We went to bed at a semi-reasonable hour last night, i.e., earlier than 11:00. Even though I knew I'd have to get up early in the morning, I wasn't feeling in the least sleepy and figured I'd have a difficult time dropping off. My husband, who usually drops off ahead of me, was feeling the same way, and we started messing around and pretty soon we were doing it...it is natural for me to make a certain amount of noise when I'm getting off, and I did. So did he.

And then we opened our eyes and realized that the house was no longer dark as it had been when we'd begun. We have a loft bedroom and we could tell from the light on the cathedral ceiling of the living room that the light was on in the kitchen. Yes, our 19YO son had come out of his room to get a late-night snack at some point during the aforementioned proceedings...

The trouble with these open-plan houses is that except if you're in either the kid's room or in one of the bathrooms, anything said in one side of the house is heard on the other.

In a short while the light went off and we heard the door close.

It's what he gets for eating that late.

LOL

If he doesn't know or understand what was going on at 19 he's been overly sheltered. Not to mention if he's disgusted, well he'll get over it.

Hell my parents are in their 70's and I know they still get it on. The more power to them.

"Hmmm... should I laugh my ass off or should I be repulsed?"

The age-old question for teenagers who overhear their parents having sex.:D

Well, his development is kind of uneven. He's our Asperger kid. I've never made much effort to shelter what he watches or reads--he's not much of one for the books, and while theoretically he could be watching anything on the tube or on the internet once we've gone to bed, he sort of polices himself. I'm sure he has all sorts of knowledge, but I'd be willing to bet my next house note that it's all theoretical at this time.

I was just kind of taken aback when I figured that he'd come out, that's all.
