I didn't recognize him when he threw out the first pitch at a playoff game. He had one of those four prong walking canes, looked about 70 pounds heavier and could only throw the ball halfway from the pitcher's mound to home plate. It is painful watching your heroes get old.


But hey, I got to see Hammerin' Hank wallop a home run at the 1972 Allstar game.
