It would be greatly appreciated if anyone has any suggestions. No Mandy Moore shit please.

Classic stuff (Beatles, etc), and modern day hip hop, R&B, etc.

Whatever has worked for you in the past.

Kthx.

You want romance, rock or both? Both have worked for me. ;)

It depends on what kind of rock we're talking about. Nirvana won't work.

I'm thinking more like romance/fun romance.

If you wanna go back to the 50's...

'I Only Have Eyes For You' by the Flamingo's is smoooth harmony. So is 'Love Walked In.'

'Chances Are' by Johnny Mathis has prolly brought more kids into the world than you can count.

'One Summer Night' by the Danleers is romantic doo-wop.

So is 'Tonight, Tonight' by The Mello Kings.

That's a start. Check 'em out on YouTube. ;)

Regina Belle - Baby, Come to Me
Chrissy Hynd - Angel of the Morning
Divinyls - I Touch Myself
D. Bowie - Wild is the Wind
112 - Peaches and Cream
Etta James _ At Last
Dido - Here With Me
Jennifer Rush - Power of Love
Bel Biv DeVoe - Do Me

That's a good list of songs to start with

If you want romance with a light, easy sound, you can get it all from one source: Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66.

I just thunk of some more:

'Colors' and 'Jennifer Juniper' Donovan.

'The First Cut Is The Deepest' Linda Ronstadt (She does the best version IMO)

"It's All In The Game' Tommy Edwards.

"Twilight Time' The Platters.

You're terrible TE. Acting like I've never heard of any of these tunes. :p

Interesting...might work. :rose:

LOL Lance!! I love 112, personally, but I have a feeling it might be a little too forward at this stage. I toyed with the idea though.

I'm going to use Dido though. I forgot about that one. :rose: And Etta James is good too.

Sorry Trin. I never know what age group I'm dealing with and whether they remember the older oldies. LOL

Call me Tom, BTW. ;)

I'm in my 20's, Tom. I just happen to be a well rounded, educated, eclectic individual.

:D

Pat Benatar - Thunder and Rain or We Belong to the Night
Ellen Foley - We Belong to the Night
Righteous Bros. - Unchained Melody
Portishead - Glorybox

FUCK You're so smart!!!

Righteous Brothers! Yes!

thank you, Barry's been in my corner for thirty years and HE ALWAYS DELIVERS DA GOODS!!!
Righteous Bros are another standard.....
Chrissy Hynde is a closer.....play her and it's time to move on the groove!!!
Talkin in tongues - as we say in the vernacular.....

"Got that JJ?"

It would certainly seem that way. That's very cool. :D I haven't connected with the music scene since the early '90's, hence my musical flashbacks. ;)

Okay....just to experiment here, what would song would you give someone if you wanted to say: "I really need to express to you how much I'm into you and I'll do whatever it takes to be with you."

??

Firehouse - When I look Into Your Eyes
Sade - Cool Operator
Elton John - Blue Eyes (if she has them)
F. Sinatra - anything
Diana Krall

That sounds like Motown or Philly Soul.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough (Diana Ross, and many others)
Sara Smile (Hall & Oates)
gotta be Marvin Gaye in there...
Donny Hathaway?
How about Donna Summer if you're more of a raver?

The Beatles - In My Life
Barry White - Can't Get Enough of Your Love
Stevie Wonder - You Are the Sunshine of my Life
Gladys Knight and the Pips - You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me
Jim Croce - I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song
Elton John - Your Song
America - I Need You
Rolling Stones - Wild Horses

Thanks a lot! Now I'll have to have two glasses of wine tonight, instead of the usual one.:(
