One of the comments on that youtube thread:

Her boyfriend at the time and her "true love"'s name was Angus (MAPS= my Angus please stay.) Angus was supposed to show up for this video shoot as he was leaving a few days later & this was the last time he would see her. He showed up in the middle of the shoot and Karen O started crying instantly as she saw him come in but never broke stride or "character." The director kept the shot as it captured the moment of the song and it's meaning in an ironic twist of events. That's why a simple video of a 3 piece band on a stage in a local school cafeteria is so powerful and so very real. And yes, he's in the video.
