If you're wondering about the title, you'll see in a sec(if you've got the patience to read on, of course). I'm gonna give it another go. Now, Morgoth, you may ask, what the Hell are you talking about? Well, here's the skinny. I want to try the old For King and Country thread again. (See Title) Since none of you would help me out on this any other way, I'm gonna do it. That's right, I'm gonna do the final option left to me. I'm going to totally go against my character here, get down on my knees, and beg. Please!?!?!? For the love all that's holy(or non), just help me out here! It was an amazing thread. Unfortunately, all the authors(except me) sort of just disappeared. Now I know I've tried this before. And I know what the results have been. But come on! It was amazing! Don't you want the old glory days revisited? Now I'm not saying we start off from where it left off. I think we should start over. From the very beginning of that thread. And only a few characters need to be carried over (Roland, the High-Paladin(whose name doesn't come to mind), Lokken(I got that covered), and Vixen). I'm willing to play as many of the old ones as no one else wants to. If a few of you(hopefully(oh come on! Please!!!!(You're not getting more than that. Well, maybe)) show interest, I'll post plot and whatnot. Come on! It's vintage! It's action-packed! It's fun!

Yes, I realize I look like an asshole. Please note that this was not the intent. Nor was the intent to make me look like a whiny douche bag. In retrospect, though I still pray that some of you will join, I seriously wish I hadn't begged as the memory of it will haunt me forever. Yes, I realize that makes me look like an asshole too.

Don't be so hard on your self. I've looked back threw the threads a few times. I haven't read most of them, this one included, but the name sticks in my mind.

Tell me more of the story and I might look into it.

I'll play Roland.. If.. That's at all possible?

I'm willing to play anyone else as well.. Tis fine.

Setting:

The kingdom of Elbonia is a small kingdom in the southmost part of a peninsula, ruled by Morbius, a paladin. To the Northeast its neighbour is the war-kingdom of Ku-athra, ruled with an ironfist by the tyrannical Kuathra himself. To the Northwest it is the kingdom of Daleland, ruled by an old grey mage, whom no one has seen in many years, and is known only as 'The Grey One'. Daleland is always having some petty dispute with Ku-athra, and Elbonia receives the consequences.

Elbonia has only two ports of importance, the rest of the coast is too rugged for ships. The capital is also called Elbonia, a port city with an impressive Cathedral at the centre, where paladin Morbius resides.

Daleland is covered mainly in forests. Its high magic has allowed it to defend itself from its aggressive neighbour, but the unknown status of its king makes it difficult.

Ku-athra is the typical Mongol land, Kuathra being a kind of Genghis Khan (note the difference in the '-' in the land, no '-' in the king's name), but with a very special code of honour.

The gods of the land have firmed a non-intervention pact between them. They still give spells to their followers, but they wont intervene directly (so no Gods here, please).

Elbonia is a land of freedom, so please don't manipulate other characters too much. It's ok for them to answer how the player more or less would, but much more could be considered interference...

King Morbius was standing looking out the window in the cathedral tower, his hands locked at his back, his thoughts as far away from here as his eyes where looking. The kingdom could be in trouble. A scout came just that morning and had said that Ku-athra was massing an army near the frontier with Daleland, and also near his kingdom's, Elbonia, border. He could hear the town crier starting to read his latest edict. He thought there could still be hope.

The town crier started reading the edict:
"Hear ye all. As of this day our good king Morbius has offered a huge monetary reward and his blessings to a group of daring people who accept a peace mission to Ku-athra and Daleland as envoys from Elbonia. Qualified individuals should apply. King Morbius will meet you at the main chapel in the Cathedral as of now, where the exact conditions of your mission will be stated."

Now the wheel had been set in motion. He started down the stairs that took to the chapel. Any time soon some adventurers would appear, and maybe a genocidical war could be averted...

That's a direct quote of Sith and his explanation of the (so-far-revealed) plot.

Saucy: Fine with me. Just be sure to capture his witty, cocky, self-important attitude. Plus, he's got a love affair going on with Vixen.

Could you sum up the characters you mentioned above. I doubt I will play one but it gives me something to mark against my character.

OOC:

Eh.. I can do cocky. lol. Perhaps a little more info on what is already known of Roland (The paladin? ) And i shall join in.

The paladin's name was Rorthar, by the way(just dug that up).
Roland= Warrior-mage. Fire discipline. Very cocky, rude, and obnoxious. Has an obvious soft spot for Vixen, and a long-standing, sometimes unfriendly rivalry with Lokken.
Vixen= Assassin. One of the best. Well-liked. Has a hard emotioal exterior, but only to cover up her inner feelings. Loves Roland. Can be cruel, but usually friendly.
Rorthar= Paladin. Hates evil with a passion. General of King Morbius's armies. Can be downright mean, but keeps his duty in mind. Also, loves anything good. Hard man, lot of battle experience, with little tenderness left to him. Dislikes Lokken.
Lokken= Warrior-mage. Death discipline. Emperor of the land of Taros. Immortal. Him and Taros worship Belial, God of Death. Civil man, kind to almost everyone. Can be cruel to particularly good people, and has rivalry with Roland. Passionate about Vixen.

I'll play the main villains. But if you want to introduce side villains, PM me and we can arrange them. I'll also be GM'ing. If you play D&D, think of me as a DM who also plays. Trust me, I won't be using any info to an unfair advantage.

OOC: You better not use any info to an unfair advantage little buddy! Anyhoo..

IC:

Roland had been sitting outside the local tavern, enjoying the soft heat of the morning sun, as the announcement was read out by the town crier. He listened with a half smirk, knowing this would be a cake walk to all whom were excepted for the calling. He glanced around with his cold blue eyes, watching the rest of the town, wondering exactly what emotions this news would draw out. He figured a great many 'adventurers' would show up to apply for the mission, but the great majority of those 'adventurers' would be denied.

"I wonder.. Perhaps Vixen will show up." His voice was nothing more than a whisper, his staff resting against his shoulder.

He stood and moved towards the castles large entryway, the guards knowing him well enough to let him wander in freely. His cloak draped out behind him as he passed under the archway and into the officers' chamberhall. He nodded to two gentlemen that stood at the doorway with their poleaxes, moving past them and into the chamber.

"So.. what exactly does this.. expedition to our neighbors include?"

I was acutally going to create an IC thread once I had enough players. Right now, it only looks like Lokken, Roland, and the villains. Cats hasn't even created one yet. I could play Vixen and Rorthar as well, but it would be difficult and I would prefer other RP'ers play as them. Therefore, I'll create the IC thread in a day or two.
