From those, we whittled it down to the top four stories with the highest votes. I feel like a fool. I refrained from nominating anyone because I assumed one nomination was sufficient. That's the way it usually goes, unless a "second" is required. However, I'm re-reading the post that Laurel made and notice where she says, "At the end of the month, we will close down the nominations and whittle them down to 4 in each category." That must mean that she's probably whittling according to number of nominations.

Well, for the record here are my nominations,

Most Influential Writer: Killermuffin. This woman tirelessly runs the Story Discussion Circle, and maintains her own voluntary thread in which she offers honest criticism for anyone who asks for it. She is always willing to offer writing advice to people and answer questions. Her influence in this arena is vast and deservedly so.

Most Original Sex Scene - Judo's Yellow Rows of Taxis Sex on the back of a galloping horse is probably physically impossible unless you're a stunt rider. However, Judo manages to make it believable, or her style is so engrossing that you're willing to sustain your disbelief and just go with it. Brava.

One thing I would like to note is that as this is the 2001 Awards, all nominated stories et al must be from the year 2001. Anything that was nominated from 2002 will not be included this year.
