The great thing about a yardstick is that, while it hurts like any other implement, it doesn't do damage almost no matter how HARD and LONG the whipping goes on. Within reason, let's say up to 250 really hard swats from an extra thick yardstick. A belt with start to cut at that rate. A paddle or hairbrush will bruise at that rate. The yardstick just burns on and causes, at most, a raw red texture that heals up quick and leg swats don't last forever.
