Yard work.....didn't miss it, at all this winter....but man I love this fucking weather!

Today I cleaned out ONE whole flower bed!(woooohoooo!) ....Only 6 more to go, plus a rennovation of my herb garden, among an endless list of other shit! I am soooooo behind in RL because of this silly computer. I haven't started any seeds, or finished digging the rose garden, in my two ton per/sq. in., silicate clay soil!

I am flipping screwed, that's what!

I have a tree to cut down and turn into a bird feeder post, a tree to transplant into it's place, and more heavy, wet clay soil to dig and ammend and till and hoe, and plant and mulch and.......TRANSPLANTING and dividing up the tushie!
I have Cedar-apple rust up the ass, and need to get a fucking Juniper, that is all of 4 ft away from a Crab apple, the fuck out of there! I found the little galls on it, and know that the bastard has too many to prune out!

OH! And have you ever tried to prune a Juniper?????
My only advice...WEAR A SUIT OF ARMOR!

Okay, so Blah, Blah, Blah!
There is probably only three or four people here who are in the same, self constructed, boat that is now rapidly sinking, because of a lack of motivation to bail out the water!

I am just ranting, because my sleeping is all fucked up and I need to be out there at 8 am, working, so I can get this shit done! I don't want to be digging all damn summer...but Fall is the best time to plant, so maybe I should just chill out! Oh yeah, I have about 10 garments to sew in about 4 days! OH goodie! Guess what I'll be doing if it rains today.

So....What are you neglecting in your yards, homes and work, because of your cyber lives???????

I bet Sparky hasn't taken his trash out all winter! ;)

Ummm...its snowing here still so we cant even do a simple lawn mowing for our yards. But I dont suppose you want to here that right now...*backs out of thread, looking for any pruning sheers coming toward her neck*

The only place pruning shears belong is in the TRASH!

No seriously, from a horticultural standpoint...sheers are bad, along with loppers! Both are horrible implements of distruction...not good for your shrubberies at all....makes "Green Meatballs" as my Hort instructor puts it!

So no, I am coming at you with my RAKE!

Can I come play in your yard? Love all that, miss it. Sigh...
If we don't find a house that we all like soon I am moving out on my own.

Yes, Merelen, come on over....We'll play with my dog, and plant seeds and such. (good luck on finding a happy home for yourselves!) :)

I just cleaned out another bed, and decided not to cut down that Hawthorn tree, but to transplant it into a better location. It has only been in it's present location for two years, so it won't be that hard on the poor thing.

I don't like the kind of work I have to do right now though. It is all debris clean up to go to the compost pile, and I just hate hauling trash cans full of crap.....
(my tractor has a dead battery and a flat tire too, so there is more work for me!

Oh I am just a ball of joy here, aren't I?

I am just amazed, though, at the wonders of Global Warming! (Not funny, I know!)

It's just been unseasonably warm here, and I have all sorts of things coming up....HEll, My chives are starting to flower! My daffodils are in full bloom, and I even have Echinacea sprouting up! My forsythia is so vibrant, and I will soon have the sweet smell of lilac wafting into my kitchen!!! Ahh, I am going back outside.... :)

Oh god. to hell with my own place. I am moving in there. Be there soon.

Now wouldn't that confuse people?

Psssst, pssst... Merelan ...

I have a garden - and a large house (no spare bedroom though, sorry - I need one room for office and one for ... living ... and one for ... whatever ... so you have to share my bedroom *looking all innocent* ... and I have a garden - a really nice one ... and I have all the grdening tools you would like ... really, I do!!!!

And people wouldn't even be confused - at least not those from Lit .... *winks*

OK - I see, not really close enough for you and the guys, huh? And in the average not really sunny either I admit .. but it was worth a try, right?

Oh my. Mistress... would you let me? nd could I plant an herb garden and cook for you too? And all those things you know I like. Please.
And you know I love the rain, ask Svedish.

Because of all the fucking rain, my yard is a swamp. Theres a huge marigold carcus in my front yard. I have a weeping willow that has decided to weep all over my herb garden, theres basil being smothered by weeds, theres an army of laundry to be done, and my dishwasher has decided it washes dishes better with some kinda detergent so it looks like a trip to the grocery store is in order.

All that terra firma stuff is okay but for really awful horticultural tasks, try dividing water lilies. Just filthy and there is nothing like the smell of rotting roots that have been underneath pond scum all winter. Oh, the joy of running into worms and frogs that have overwintered in your pond.

But when the lilies are in bloom, all is forgiven :)
