Hey...I broke a 1000 posts too and noone said congrats to me!! Oh God the horror of it all!!!! I am gonna cry...just sec...got to screw up face and squeeze tears out or noones going to believe me!!

Congrats, but, seriously, I think the distinction has paled a bit, now that it seems to happen within months of registering. I used to be amazed that I had 300 posts. Now it's nothing to get that in a couple of weeks.

And this isn't the old "snow was deeper in my day" lie, it's true. A year ago there were only a few regular posters, and not nearly as many Board categories, and not so many stories. So there weren't as many opportunities to post. You could do two a day and feel content.

Now, what with all the Board categories, including role playing, and all the stories to comment on, and the amazing number of people who visit Lit, there are just so many chances to post something. Numbers like 500, 800, 1000 rack up pretty quickly. So, it's just not that amazing a thing any more.

I think the current "Congratulations" bar is set somewhere around 5000. No way will I be first to reach 5000, even though I've been here longer than anybody (I came to Lit when there were about thirty stories, which you couldn't even download, but had to wait for the Wells Fargo Wagon to come over the Donner Pass and deliver them to Doc's store.). I'm banking on Nitelight, frankly.

Still, Ambrosious, you're had somthing to say for 1000 posts, and that's worthy of Congratulations.

I must concur. I lurked for a long time before I posted my first, an I seem to remember when 300 was an excuse for a party. Of course, we had to post uphill in 3 feet of snow with no shoes on.

Congrats to you both although I agree, hell hitting 2000 isn't that hard for people to do in a few months.
