I was looking through some ads about the upcoming movie, and I noticed the cast Halle Berry as Storm.

Now, call me crazy (crazy) but, wouldnt Rupaul had been a wonderful choice??? Just my thots.

You are crazy!!!
You asked me too. I didn't even know Rupaul was still around.
Is anyone going to the movie? Collect the comics? or just curious?

I cant wait to see the movie!! Looks like its gonna kick ass. I love comics :) "I dont wanna grow up, Im a Toys R Us Kid....." Sorry, the inner child in me broke through :D

I am also going to the movie, but as a party. About 6-7 of us going. Yes, all adults!!!

Should be interesting as they did a great job in casting. No, I am not a big fan of comics or anything, but I use any excuse for a party!!!

I have read a few though and know a bit about the xmen from my friends, so I won't be totally ignorant.

Well I've been a fan of X-men for years. And I can't wait to see what they've come up with. As Usual when they make a movie about comic book characters, I am some what sceptical.
Of what I have seen from the movie, it looks like a kick ass ride. But there is one thing that troubles me.
Rogue Aka. Anne Paquine. Now first of all she's way too young to play Rogue. Secondly they have choosen to make the Movie-Rogue a mixture of Jubilee, Shadowcat and Rogue.
What I'd like to know is how the hell is that possible. All three characters are so far apart from each other that it's almost scary.
Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Yes Xander, I noticed that too. They seem to have left out some of the characters that were more lively. Personally, I liked Jubilee's character, and it kindof pissed me off that she wasnt in there. But hey, Im going just to watch Patrick Stewart wheel around in that chair. Hes one sexy bald guy.

yeah Beebee. It also pissed me off a bit. Especially since she and Wolverine has a special relationship in the comic book. I was also a little pissed that Shadowcat wasn't in it. Since she was one of the originals from the group they have choosen for the movie.
Well at least I get to see a Wolverine vs. Sabretooth fight. I just hope that they have given both characters the rough and brutal look they both have.
At least I get to see it before any other Dane will, since it will first open here around Christmas. And I'll be in the states already in September :D

I'll agree with Xander about Rogue, as for Cyclops, the Actor they picked I think it's was Jonathan Shaech, is a little too young to be playing Cyke, He doesnt look like the type. I think they should have gotten Angela Basset to play Storm. But damn, did they have to put Rebecca Romjin-Stamos in that Make-up?

Bushido. You might be right about Cyke. But let's face it. all he has to do is be a little moody and shoot those rays of his a few times.
Another thing. I really can't picture Famke Jansen as Phoenix. I think there's a little too much sex kitten over Famke Jansen. And Phoenix is, and has always been, pure as snow.
Well except during her Dark Phoenix days where she pretty much did everything. Including almost destroying the universe. LOL
There are so many small things about the cast they have choosen for the X-Men movie. But let's face it. There is no way they can find actors/actress' that will fullfil the vision of X-Men completely.

You got that right Xander, my friends and I used to have many a brew and long conversations back in the day trying to figure just who would fit the characters. But, if they do go the way of Dark Phoenix Famke Janssen ain't a bad choice

WORD OF THE DAY: LEGS,,,,OK Let's spread the word!!!!!!!

You got that right Bushido. Famke Jansen as Dark Phoenix isn't bad at all.
But Famke Jansen as pure, sweet forgiving Phoenix....Well I just don't know.
Can You even imagine Phoenix and Cyke having some kind of sex life in their marriage??? I can't. they are just too damn innocent for that.
Then again try this one.
Phoenix is riding Cyke like a mad woman, chanting: Will me, Will, me WILLLLLL MEEEEEEE!!!
And then she knocks off Cykes glasses in the heat of the moment and becomes REALLY hot.

I love X-Men. I've been waiting for this movie to come out since I was like 7. And I know a heck of a lot (memorized all the trailors, gotten all the special edition comics, pillaged through the website (http://x-men-the-movie.com)) I just got out my old comic books (but not too old) and have been reading through them in high anticipation. They supposudly are following more the earlier days--before Jubilee came around, so thats why she's not in it. And Rogue is still young--she hasn't absorbed Marvel Girl's powers yet. Now, I read that even though Mystique is Rogue's foster mother, it is not mentioned in the movie. I'm wondering, though, if there will be some interaction between them hinting at the past. Also, she starts off the movie without her white streak in the hair, but ends up with is on......maybe something to do with storm's white hair?.... And there will be a lot of "extras" around the mansion that you might recognize, like shadowcat and others. Also, a little tidbit, the guy who played Beast's voice in the animated show, is an extra. And be on the look out for Stan Lee, he supposudly is in there as well. I'm planning on waiting in line if I have to to see this movie, first showing, friday. I am soooo geared for this. Now, I must correct something here, her name is no longer Phoenix, its "Dr." Jean Grey. She doesn't have a code name. You were confusing me, because I didn't think Phoenix was in this movie. And she's not. The Phoenix in the comic book (if you go back to Uncanny X-men #103-105), you will recall, is actually an alien life form, masquerading as Jean. (She isn't a doctor in the comics either, but since they didn't but in Hank (Beast) McCoy, they neaded one). Well, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I'll respond as best I can.

YEAH! X-MEN! It's gonna be cool!

Ahem. Okay, now I'm ready for reasoned discourse. From what I understand, the movie is going to concentrate a lot on Logan/Wolverine, so we know that the production team got something right. And Xander, I agree with you--should have been Jubilee, not Rogue. And does anybody else think that Hank McCoy should've been it the movie? I've read that the director would've liked him in there, but I can't remember why he wasn't.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing how the ideology feud between Magneto and Xavier is handled. I think that this point could make or break the movie (to use a cliché). I agree that the track record for comic book movies isn't very good (the Batman movies ought to be buried deep in a pit somewhere), but the fact that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have both signed up should indicate that there something good brewing.

The first two Batman movies were quite good. I enjoyed the first three Superman movies. Men in Black made a good movie as did Clerks.
Never, I say, never has Marvel created a good movie from their comic books. Captain America, Spiderman, The Fantastic Four; washouts, every single one of them.

Thems my two cents.

I like Angel and Iceman, and sort of wished they were in there. But if they put everyone we wanted in there, there would be way too many characters and the movie would have taken for ever. Of course, since its X-men, I wouldn't have cared. Nightcrawler would have been cool too. They were going to put in a Danger Room (which would have been oh-so-cool) but had budget constraints. Hard to say, since they had a budget of over 75 million dollars. (better be good :)) Oh, and all the main actors have already signed on for the sequel....

True. That was a big concideration, but now, there is a Spiderman movie in consideration, a Ghostrider one and a few others as well. The success of Blade (you forgot that one) and all the X-men anticipation as well as the hype surrounding Spiderman (word has it that Freddie Prinz Jr. might play the web-slinger...), Marvel is starting to try some more ideas.

*twitching in anticipation of tomorrow*

XMEN!!!!

Okay, you've stumbled on one of my unhealthy obsessions. I think that Halle's going to be fine as Storm.. But what the hell is up with having a Wolvie\Rogue thing?! I mean, I know they had something in the past, but it HAS to be Rogue and Gambit. And Gambit's not even in the movie!

I think when they eventually put Beast in (this movie is the first of a trilogy they've contracted to do), there is one man on Earth who can play him.

The Rock.

Who's with me?

Thank you, that has been driving me absolutely crazy! I was sooo pissed when I saw the previews and Rogue didn't have the white streak! I mean, come on, Rogue without the white streak is simply not Rogue.

(please don't bash me. my enthusiasm exceeds my knowledge)

And doesn't Jean Gray have red hair? In the previews, she has plain old brown hair. I'm confused.

And I seem to have a thing with hair! LOL

OMG Tell me it isn't so. Jean Grey as a substitute for Hank McCoy. You gotta be kidding me. First of all, there is only one true brainiac in X-men and that's McCoy. Secondly: Is it just me or shouldn't Jean Grey be in there AS Phoenix and NOT as "Dr. Jean Grey"??

My goodness! I Just read on a website that Patrick Stewart is 60 yrs old today. WOW! Who'd thunk it?

Well, one thing's for sure, bub: they better have a claw-poppin' scene! (You know, "be nice or the middle claw slips...snikt!").

I was upset that gambit wasn't in the movie...He is my favorite...i don't know if it is his voice being cajun or if it is because he knows how to use his hands....and for Patric Stewart...that is one 60 year old that i would love to do....

I am also looking forward to the movie...thing is that I never have collected any of the XMen comics. My collection (I'm a Toys-R-Us kid as well Ted :)) is mainly DC (Superman, Batman....)

One thing I have read about the movie is that they are gonna try and play Wolverine & Rogue as 2 loners who come together. Also read that one of Wolverines "claw-popping" moments will be him skewering Rogue and her using her powers to absorb his healing factor. She's also supposed to get the white stripe from touching Storm.... Can't wait to see it

Endlessly: If you are talking about the WWF champ, the Rock, I was reading something about him being so good in filming as the Scorpion King for the next Mummy movie that they are already getting the writer in place to do a "prequel" about his Scorpion King character.
