I'd like to add my thanks and congratulations to the Webmaster/Webmistress for their stellar efforts and achievements.

Great site and I even agree most of the participants on the BB are tops as well (ther's always the exception that proves the rule).

I also wish our hosts as well as the guests a Merry Christmas and Happy New year. I'll save the salutations for a new millenium until its arrival (January 1, 2001) is nearer than a year away.

Its countdown time for Xmas, and I reflect on the past year. I only got Internet access in September, and found this site almost immediately. And you know I haven't find a better one yet. Unpretentious, quality not relying on fancy graphics. Great authors , great chat site.
And all because of those two wondeful people who labour long and hard to bring us something out of the ordinary.

Comments about the millenium reminded me of how much different "the future" has turned out, in some ways, than we imagined it when I was a kid. In October of '64, I visited the New York World's Fair and went to the Parker Pen Pavilion, which, to promote "communication," had a gimmick to match you with a pen pal from a foreign land through their computer database. I was 12 at the time and was matched with some young fellow from Australia, with whom I corresponded for a while. Perhaps he was the father of the young man who wrote on another thread the other day to ask if there were any nice Aussie girls around.

Back, then, we always assumed that at least two things would be true of "the future"--by which most of us thought in terms of the turn of the century, where we find ourselves now. One expectation was that phones would all be picture phones, and that people would constantly embarrass themselves by forgetting to turn the picture off before they got out of the shower to answer the phone. The other was that cars would travel a few feet above the ground on a cushion of air, like small flying saucers.

Neither has really come true, of course. And in an age where computers were still powered by transistors, no one back then could have foreseen the internet. But had anyone told my horny 12 year old self that 35 years later, I would be able to communicate with people, some of them as yet unborn, about sex, via a desktop computer, I think I would have been even more eager to see the future than I thought I was!

Yes, It's A Wonderful Site...thanks Laurel and Manu for all the work and care and attention...a small yet regular part of my daily puter routine involves Literotica reading, both of the stories and the BB. And I get to put my 2 cents in to boot!
