In the spirit of the season, I thought it would be nice if we exchange gifts by giving each other a link to a favorite site.
Here's mine: To all lovers of really terrible music:
http://www.miserablemelodies.com/
This is one of my favorite all-time sites. If you like music that's so bad that it transcends the very idea of taste, this is the place for you. If you want to hear Eilert Pilarm, the "Swedish Elvis", or Lou Reed's "Take a Walk On The Wild Side" sung by a 73 year-old German chanteuse, or Attorney General John Ashcroft singing a patriotic chest-thumper ("Fly Eagle Fly"), or William Shatner chewing the scenery in "Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man", they're all here. The tunes download fast, and the stuff is just amazing.
(My own favorite is the Portsmouth Sinfonia doing "Thus Spake Zarathustra". Not to be fucking believed.)
Merry Christmas all, and Happy Hannukah too.
