Ares sits on his golden throne, his right hand playing with the hilt of the sword he carries. His left hand moves up, the index finger and thumb running along the edges of his dark goatee while he devises a new plan. But every plan is always foiled, usually by Xena and her side kick Gabrielle. Squinching his eyes in concentration, the plan begins to take form. Looking around his marble constructed temple, he calls out "Strife". Suddenly in a flash of light Strife appears in front of Ares.

"You called for me Uncle?" Strife asked Ares. "Yes I did, I have a mission for you. I need you to go and get Callisto for me and bring her to me." Ares replied. "Where is she?" Strife said just as Ares was about to speak again. Ares cuts a glare at Strife that could cut through stone, "If you would have given me a minute , I could have told you that she is in the pits of the underworld." he snarled back to him. "Now go, and don't fail me if you do you will be going back to the under world, permanently."

With another flash of light, Strife was gone., and Ares returned to thinking his strategy for his latest plan.

(OOC: This "episode" is centered around Ares the God of war.
Any one wanting to join in please post your request on the OOC: Xena thread. I want to keep this thread fairly clean from all but the most important of OOC's. And let's try to follow this OOC trend when one is needed)

"Joxer the Mighty, he roams through the countryside.
He never needs a place to hide with Gabby as his sidekick, fighting with her little stick,
Righting wrongs and singing songs, he's Joxer, Joxer the Mighty
He's Joxer the Mighty, he's really tidy.
Everybody loves him cause he has a funny grin.
He's Joxer, Joxer the Mighty."

Joxer breathed in deeply, welcoming in the new day. The sun, barely risen above the horizon wlecomed him back, sitting atop his trusty new steed, he began to trot along the trail that surely Xena and Gabrielle had followed for the night.
His armor, consistng of odds and ends of just about anything he could find, rattled noisily as he made his way into the forest. A morning lark sang it's song. The day was turning out to be good.
Joxer the Mighty then saw their camp. He smiled, getting off his horse, time for a new day, and a new adventure. With Xena and Gabrielle, it was always time for adventure.
He quickly grabbed a ready made old breakfast that he had made the night before, and walked over to the fire. It was nearly out.
Two sturdy logs later, a crackling fire warmed up the breakfast. Some bread, salted meat, and of course goat's milk. (hey, give me a break, it was probably a delicacy back then)
He began rattling on his armor furiously.
"Come on campers, it's wakey wakey time."

Gabrielle

Gabrielle winced as a pounding noise startled her awake. She rolled out of her bedroll, picking up her staff that lay beside her on the way to a standing position. Crouched with her hands on her staff, she looked around for signs of danger.

From the noise, she had expected several aromor clad men with swords drawn and ready to pit themselves into battle with her and Xena. What she saw was Joxer. She groaned and let her grip loose on the staff. Though a fleeting thought of using it on his head did cross her mind.

"Joxer, what are you doing here?," Gabby said with exaspiration in her voice,"I thought we ditched...err...left you helping the townspeople two towns back."

Looking over to where Xena lay unmoving, she said,"Come on, your not fooling anyone. You probably knew that he was here the whole time."

Callisto...

The deafening sound of horse hoofs hitting the dry earth were all around. Try as she might, there was nothing she could do to escape them. Her hands over her ears, she cried out into the night, "Stoooooooop! Stop I say! Stop!"

But the noises did not stop. They continued to thunder in her head. She sat there, with her knees tucked up to her chest and her hands covering her ears. She didn't cry. For some reason she couldn't cry. Even as she saw her villiage, her home burn to the ground, she cound not cry.

Then she saw her, the Warrior Princess, laughing at the entryway to her cottage. The two exchanged eyes for a moment and then she was gone. That was when the immeanse heat came, then the bone shattering cries.

Helpless, she sat there in horror, unable to move. The cries grew louder as she watched her mother and sister become consumed by the fire. The fire threatened to take her too, but someone pulled her out of the cottage through a window at the last minute.

"Never again, Xena," Callisto said aloud thought the cavernous room. "I won't cry like my mother and sister did. If you come to me, I'll be waiting and ready. If you don't come to me, then I'll come to you. Oh yes, Xena, I will come to you!"

Xena: Amazon Goddesss, Warrior Princess

I heard the clammering, I knew that Joxer was a day behind us. I just figured he would get himself lost, but it was getting sort of lonely without the damn fool. I opened one eye, I brushed my hand over my face lazily. Getting up, I shook the blanket I was sleeping on, and quickly rolled it up. I snapped the front of my armor together and tucked the breast dagger, that I had taken from Gabrielle a while ago, where it belonged. I sheathed my sword after a quick glance at the condition. It gleamed in the rays of light that streamed through the trees where we made camp. Suddenly I heard a zing of an arrow fly past my head. My eyes became alert. I grabbed my Chakrum, "Find cover." I squinted, No one was in sight. I heard a clammer from Joxer as he seemed to have fallen. I spun around. A figure forming in front of me.

(OOC. Sorry, I know you hate these, but my original first post was written before as a huge battle scene so I deleted it, if anything ever needs to be changed with my posts...just let me know.)

Joxer handed Gabrielle her breakfast. He stood up, placing his hands on his hips, looking into the morning with a cocked smile.
"Come on, you know me. I am Joxer the Mighty. Adventurer extraodinaire. I can't stay in one place for too long..."
He looked back at Gabrielle, her head was turned slightly, gazing at him.
"...besides, they sort of kicked me out yesterday. Hey, how was I supposed to know you can't bathe in the drinking water."
Xena had already woken up. She seemed in her usual cheery mood in the morning. Funny, she never slept in so late. Joxer shrugged his shoulders.
He grabbed her breakfast, and walked toward her. The arrow hit inches from his head. He fell backwaords, instinctively, having Xena's breakfast spilled all over him. It was piping hot, he quickly worked getting all of it off of his newly polished armor.
Back on his feet, Joxer crouched behind Xena, taking out his sword.
"You better give up. Joxer the Mighty and his two sidekicks have never been defeated in battle."
A swift hit came to the head.
"Ow, I was just trying to scare them."

Gabrielle pulled back into a defensive crouch moments after she had used her staff to make a dent in Joxer's head. She wondered it she had hurt her staff instead.

Those thoughts would have to wait. Gabby's eyes narrowed as she saw the figure also. Her muscles tensed and her grip tightened on the staff. The only thing she needed now was a motion from Xena that showed this was an enemy.

Autolycus looked around, trying to find a place to hide. He then heard a shout of, "He went this way!" behind him and ran straight up a set of steps towards the landing. As he reached the landing he heard heavy footsteps behind him and turned to see the soldiers that had been chasing him for nearly the whole day.

He looked down at his pouch and said, "All this for a ruby, you would think that it wasn't worth it."
One of the soldiers saw Autolycus and shouted out, "There he is- get him!"
Two soldiers ran up the steps towards Autolycus but before they got near him he pulled out his grappling hook and threw it, watching as it wrapped itself around a sculpture on the top of a house. He turned and beamed a smile at the soldiers before he jumped off.

As soon as he jumped he knew that he had misjudged and looked just to see the window shutters seconds before he burst throught them. When he looked up he saw that he was surrounded by a group of beautiful women who looked at him in shock and said, "Hello ladies."

Strife

"Callisto?" I call out for the woman as I search for her through the pits of the underworld. Of all the crapy assignments, I had to get this on a day that I had hoped to rest. But of course, Uncle Ares had to have another one of his great ideas and send me out to pick up what he needed. In this case, it was the woman called Callisto. Yeah this should be a fun assignment. But atleast it would also most likely be a very short one.

Being that I was very much in a rush, I call out again "Callisto? My Uncle needs your help with Xena or something like that." That last part after Xena, I slightly mutter to myself as I continue my way through the pits of the underworld.

There should be a union or something for villian lackys. We're realy getting screwed on our health benefits these days. I mean, being out here COULD NOT be considered a healthy thing to be apart of. Sighing, I pick up the pace as I continue on my search for Callisto. The sooner I find her, and convince her to come join us, the better off I'd be at this rate.

The idiotic bumblings of Aphrodite and the stripping of Xena...no that isn't right...

The cloud of smoke before her began to turn hues from white to a disgustingly girly pink. The air began to fill with the scent of perfumes...lavender...rose...She wrinkled her nose and used her hand to waft away the mist. Large hearts crystalized and began to form shapely legs, Xena looked upwards and realized who it was as the barely there pink lingerie was molded onto a blonde figure.
"Aphrodite," she muttered, mostly in annoyance.

Xena put her gilded disk back in place and rolling her eyes turned her back to the Goddess of Love. She walked away as Gabrielle came out of the trees as well as a clammoring Joxer.

"What do you want Aphrodite." She said in her ussual annoyed while bored and in charge tone.

"Oh!" Aphrodite bubbled. "Nice to see you too Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer." SHe said sarcastically, then, seeing Joxer, she looked at him as if with a new toy. She pouted in her usual tempting way. Then, becoming bored she focused her attention back on Xena and Gabrielle.

Joxer drooled like a puppy. Gabrielle rolled her eyes and elbowed him. Xena smirked cockily.

"I'm here...to fetch that wicked wicked boy." Aphrodite said absentmindedly while searching with her eyes for her son. Looking around, obviously, not making an attempt to really find him.

"CUPID!!!!! CUPIIIIIIDDDD! GET YOUR FANCY FLYING BUTT OVER HER NOW!!!!!" She yelled through the forest, her voice echoeing, throwing a minature temper tantrum, her flushed lips pouting.

"Always getting himself into trouble...." She muttered again, twirling her hair, and smoothing her hands over her hips.
" Xena you seem to be a bit weary, faded, maybe a makeover would be nice." She said a bit evily, her blonde nature apparant as she rambled on. (IM BLONDE I CAN SAY IT.)

Xena glared. SHe place her hand on her sword helm, contimplating slicing those blonde curls right off. THen she smiled. Flicking her bangs upwards. "yes...I do." She shrugged. "Now leave us...you meddle enough as it is."

"Xena...Xena...Xena..." Aprhodite 'tsked' and pouted in an expression of fake hurt. Aphrodite's voice echoed through the forest and that annoying smell of roses filled the air as hearts formed the shape of her body and slowly disappeared and melted into a light mist and a resounding of bubbling giggles and laughs.

Gabrielle stepped out next to Xena, just as an arrow was heard whizzing through the air, Xena reached out quickly, an instant reflex and grabbed it before it hit her.

"I'll not miss next time." A masculine voice filled the air, the voice of...Cupid.

"What on earth?" Xena mumbled....
She examined the arrow. The point submerged in a substance...What would cupid want with Gabrielle?

Ares

Walking around looking at all of the weapons of destruction in this temple Ares smiles as he runs his fingers over a battle axe. Hearing wings flapping behind him, Ares doesn't even turn around, "What happened this time?" he asked.

"I'm sorry Ares it is that my goody two shoes mother showed up as I was about to shoot Gabrielle, and caused me to miss. Aphrodite knows what is going on some how." Cupid nervously replied.

Ares spins around and throws a ball of fire from his hand, and it hits Cupid in the chest. Surprised, Cupid is unable to regain control before smashing into one of the columns breaking it in the process.

"I hope no one else fails me today, I hate failure." Ares said before grinning and going back to his throne as servants came in to clean up the mess. "Throw fly boy out side, I don't want to see him again." he said as they lifted Cupid's unconscious body and moved him.

Callisto...

Hades watched on as Strife made his way through Underworld. He contemplated whether or not to toy with the Young God. It was very rare that he got visitors here, even if this one was for Callisto and not him.

"Damnit Hades," Callisto spat. "He was sent here for me, for a mission. Can't you see that?"

"You can't leave here and you know it!" Hades shot back. "When you died your soul came to me. You belong to me now."

Strife was standing before the two now. "I've been sent here by my uncle, Ares the God of War, to collect Callisto and bring her back to his camp," he said to the ruler of Underworld.

Hades looked down at the Young God from his throne and laughed. His laugh echoed and reverberated between the large walls. "She can't leave. I own her soul!" he said. "Now, go back to your dear unc' and tell him that one! Tell him Hades denies his request!"

With that, Hades threw a few small fireballs at the feet of Strife. He laughed even louder as he watched the Young God dance about, trying to avoid the flame. Soon he was gone.

Callisto glared at Hades. Even in death she had taken her hatred for Xena with her. She longed to be released back to the earth's surface so she could hunt her down. The desire for revenge was so strong now that she could taste it!

Valen

"Ha ha ha ha haaa!!"

Valen cringed as the drunken laughter of the four men made his eardrums ring. He'd sat there in the corner of the tavern for the last hour, nursing his ale as he listened and watched, senses alert for the merest morsel of interesting information he might discover from the rowdy patrons.

He'd been concentrating on four rough looking men drinking heavily around a table, observing as they gradually became louder and more loose-tongued as the evening wore on. They were petty thugs and bandits, judging by their drunken boasting, and didn't seem overly concerned who knew it either. Valen shook his head resignedly - it was amateurs like them that gave criminals a bad name.

"Now if yer lookin' fer a big haul," one of the men said sagely, "ya wanna try yer luck at Elurius' place. That senile old fool is supposed to be the richest man for a couple of hundred miles all around."

"You're kidding right?" another of the men replied incredulously. "You'd have to be insane to try an' knock off that place. He's got it done up like a small fortress in there, 'e has. Guards, dogs, traps...the lot."

"He's right," added a third, belching loudly before he continued, "that place is stitched up so tight, not even the King of Thieves could pull it off!"

Valen perked up as he heard that last sentence, his piercing green eyes glittering with interest. He picked up his half empty glass and casually dropped it to the floor, attracting the attention of most of the patrons as it shattered, including the four men.

"I could do it..." he said confidently.

"What!?" shouted the fourth man, feeling a bit left out. "An' who the 'ell do ya think you are then...boy?"

"Me?" replied Valen calmly, his lips curling into a wry smile, "I am quite simply the greatest thief that ever lived."

"What!?" bellowed the fourth man again, trying early to establish a catch phrase. "You don' look nuthin' like the King o' Thieves!" He turned and nudged one of his erstwhile companions. "Listen lads! This boy only thinks he's bleedin' Autolycus!!"

"Ha ha ha ha haaa haa haa haaaa!!" laughed the group of ruffians heartily.

The muscles in Valen's face twitched as he felt his blood boiling and his face turning red. Why did this always happen!?

That damn Autolycus was SO overrated!!

Autolycus walked down the streets as if nothing was bothering him but he was looking carefully at a way to get into the place. He had heard that this person, Elurius happened to be the richest man in these parts and that even he couldn't get in. He did so love a challenge.

He looked closely up at the top of the walls and saw the small strand of rope, almost invisible to the naked eye running across it and knew what that meant. He threw his grappling hook up there and there would be people from the household out to seize him before he even had a chance to put his feet down on the ground but he had to find a way in, he had to prove to everyone that he was called the king of thieves for a reason.

Just then he noticed someone walking towards him and quickly moved so that he was leaning against the wall. The person passed him and smiled then said, "Good day sir."
Autolycus smiled back and said, "And a merry day to you." before he ran his fingers over his moustache.

Gabrielle

Gabby was walking beside Xena and trying her hardest to get the warrior princess to give her a hint about what was going on. Xena knew more than she was saying-and she was saying nothing. Gabby knew that until Xena had some conclusive evidence she wasnt going to tell anyone what she thought was happening but Gabby was dying of curiosity about why Cupid would try to hit her with an arrow.

Finally she sighed and gave up with a shrug. She was just going to have to find out the usual way-by waiting until Xena felt it was the right time to tell her.

She then tried to put her thoughts into her most recent composition on the Xena adventures but she was having a hard time concentrating with Joxer right in back of her singing that stupid song.

Turning around she said to him,"Joxer, dont you know some other song? One that isnt so annoying?"

"The song helps me to think," Joxer said, singing one more verse. All of this was folding in on itself now, the deviation, the planning, he knew exactly what was going on.
"I've got it," he said simply walking between Xena and Aphrodite, "I know why your doing all this."
Aphrodite put her hands on her luscious hips, and stared at him dully.
"It's simple when you think about it really. You see, you are the Goddess of Love. Your job is to make people fall in love with each other so you sent Cupid to shoot Gabrielle and make her fall in love with me, of course I'm flattered. Thank you Aphrodite.
"Now, you sent Cupid last night, but he never came back so you went to investigate. Cupid couldn't shoot Gabrielle until I was near her, so he had to wait until I came this morning."
Taking Gabrielle's hand he kneeled in front of her. He kissed her hand lightly.
"We don't need Cupid's arrow, do we?"

Strife

Looking down at the burn marks around my feet, I let out a low curse under my breath as I return to the temple. Boy was I going to get it now when I tell unc' that I couldn't get Callisto out. I could almost feel the fire ball slaming into my body even now. Entering his throne room, I slowly walk towards where he sat. My eyes catch a glance of a smashed column. Looked like he was already in a pretty bad mood.

Kneeling down, I begin to give my report "Uncle Ares, I'm afraid I have some bad news to report about my mission." Pausing after making that last statement, I look up briefly to see the look in his eyes. Feeling the sweat run down my face, I swallow hard at knowing I could be signing my death with this news.

Reluctantly, I tell him "Hades has refused your request to let Callisto free from the underworld. I tried to talk him into letting her go, but he threw fire balls at me!" I can feel his gaze looking down on me as I finish my quick report. To be honest, I was surprised to still be alive for this long after telling him.

Ares

Jumping of the throne, Ares almost stares through Strife. Hades said what? he asked, walking up to his nephew.
"He denied your request." Strife stuttered. Hearing Ares shout in anger, Strife tensed knowing what was going to happen. Tightening his hand into a fist, Ares back hands Strife, sending him crashing into the wall. "If you want anything done right, you have to do it yourself." he growled before disappearing in a flash of light.

Appearing in Hades' main chamber, Ares walks up to him full of purpose. "I want Callisto, and I want her now." he demanded. "Why should I let you have her?" Hades spat back. "Because I respected you enough to ask for her instead of simply taking her." Ares said with a confident smile. "Now we can do this two ways, I can leave with her and all is well, or I can leave with out her. But if she stays behind, I will return and remove this place from your possession and I will have Callisto. Your choice." he concluded.
"Are you threatening me Ares?" Hades asked. "No, I am making a promise to you I have no need for threats." Ares said the truth of his words burning in his eyes. "So what is your answer?" Ares asked. Waiting for the response, Ares keeps his hand on the hilt of his sword sheathed at his side.

Callisto...

Hades contemplated the decision laid out before him. He certainly had been dealt out the worst of the lands to rule by his baby brother, Zeus, but it was his nonetheless. He even grew fond of his position he had over the lose souls of hell. He'd certainly hate to see his land ruined.

"Take her," he finally said to Ares. "One mere wench means nothing to me when I have my fair bride, Persephone, by my side."

Ares smiled seductively at Callisto as he extended out his hand to her. Normally she was an independent woman, but as she looked into the eyes of Ares she felt bewitched. Graciously, she took his hand.

He smiled up at Hades. Knowing it was summer, he knew that Persephone was with her mother, Demeter, right now. Mockingly, he looked about the cavern. "And where is this bride?" he asked, laughing, before he left.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle stared at Joxer with her best 'you've got to be kidding' look. "Joxer, get up," She said, extracting her hand and turning to Xena.

"There has got to be a LOGICAL explanation for what just happened and since I'm involved I think I deserve to know what it is."

Ares

Returning to the temple, Ares takes Callisto to the armory.
"I have a reason for freeing you Callisto. I need you for a mission, one I am sure you will enjoy. "But that isn't the only reason I freed you, if you succeed in doing this job, I have a more permanent position for you." Ares states with the most evil smile he knows.
"What do you have in store for me then?" Callisto asked, her dark eyes sparkling at the opportunity to serve the God of War. "You're to capture Gabrielle for me and bring her here." he told her. Moving behind her, Ares moves both thumbs down her spine. Feeling her gasp for air suddenly, he moves his hands up feeling the texture of her hair.
"Sounds good to me, but what do I get out of it?" She snapped back. "I am glad you asked Callisto. If you bring Gabrielle before me, I will make you my Warrior Goddess. As an added bonus, if you get me Gabrielle without anyone knowing it was you, I promise you Xena will come here looking for her and will be at your mercy." Ares tells her lightly tracing his fingers along the top of her shoulder.
"I would do anything to get my hands on Xena you have yourself a deal Ares." Callisto said with the hatred of her enemy burning in her eyes. Ares leans down and lightly kisses the back of her neck.
"Now prove how bad you want Xena to me." he said with lust glaring in his eyes.

Callisto...

Ares kissed the back of her neck once more, but this time with more strength. Callisto even thought she felt his teeth upon her flesh. She whimpered softly.

Never before had a man turned her head, let alone aroused her, but Ares was different. He was no man! He was a God! And, he was working his magick on her now. Starting up at the shoulders, his hands moved down the length of her arms. He still stood behind her.

His lips brushed against her earlobe. "How will you prove it Callisto?" Ares asked her again. His hands slid back up her arms and then down her chest. Soon he was cupping both her breasts.

Ares

Feeling Callisto starting to melt in his hands he smiled to himself. He enjoyed unleashing a woman's full potential, with any luck, he was going to turn Callisto into even more of a monster than Xena did.
Reaching around, Ares unhooks the snap sitting in the middle of her perky breasts, causing her top to fall open. Cupping her breasts in the palm of his hands now, he squeezes them firmly. Feeling her nipples harden, he takes them between his fingers and pinches them lightly. Hearing her moan, he moves to one side and slides her leather top off as he nibbles on her ear lobe.

Callisto...

Callisto turned so that she was facing Ares now. For the first time he had a full view of her pert breasts. Her nipples stood out like one karet diamonds. He ran his thumbs over them quickly, teasing her. He chuckled when she gasped.

"That's a girl, Callisto," Ares said to her. His thumbs rolled over her nipples once more. This time, he caught them between thumb and index finger. He pinched down on them and then tugged them away from her body.

Pain shot through Callisto's body. It felt like electricity running through her veins across her whole body. She noticed, though, that she was now wet. That was something else that was new for her.

Ares

Nibbling his way down her neck, Ares licks down to her left nipple. Flicking his tongue across it, he catches the musky smell of Callisto's wet pussy.
"What's this, did you discover you like this kind of thing?" he asks her, using his hands to slide her leather skirt down. Sliding a finger along her wetness, "Mmmm, finger licking good, just as I imagined." Ares tells her, licking his fingers. Picking her up, the skirt slides from her boots as she wraps her legs around him. Carrying her over to a table covered with shiney new swords, Ares swipes them off of the table with one hand as he kisses Callisto fully on the lips.
Setting her down on the edge of the stone table, Ares slides down between her long, slender legs. Kissing the innerside of each knee, he slowly licks and nibbles his way up to Callisto's dripping cunt. Sliding one finger into her tight wet hole, she writhes on his finger. Feeling her pussy muscles spasm slightly around him, Ares leans up and sucks Callisto's clit into his mouth running his tongue roughly across it.
