X-Men: The Legacy of Xavier

Five years have passed since we last visited the students of Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters and the world, as we know it is no more. The year is 2007, and America and most other great nations are no more. In 2003, the USA passed the Mutant Registration Act, and the metahuman control laws in an effort to stem the rising panic of the populace at large over mutants and other paranormals. Quite predictably, certain members of the paranormal took great offense at these laws, and conflict arose. For 2 years there was battle after battle, until finally it all came to the last battle. That was the beginning of the end.

Within six months roughly half of the mutant population of America had either been terminated or interred in “Reeducation Camps”, known as “The Final Stop” by the paranormal population. The Avengers, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and many other mutants and paranormals lost their lives in the battles between the government forces and the privatized “Mutant Hunters” that roamed the nation. The world had turned into every mutant’s worst nightmare.
The final battle of the Genocide Wars happened two years after the MRA passed. Magneto had finally finished construction of a device that if used would have eradicated the Homo sapiens population of the world, thus ensuring that mutants would become the only species of human left on the earth. So, of course, the X-men were the ones to stop him. The fighting aboard his space station was fierce, with no quarter given or asked.
Eventually, the battle progressed to where the professor and Magneto were the only ones left to fight each other. It was at that time that the united countries of the world rained fire and annihilation down upon us. Jean was the first to notice the missiles as they flew in, and the first to give warning. I tried to get us all out, but there was no way to get the professor or Magneto out. I gathered everyone who could move or be moved, and transported us all to Shadow moments before the missiles struck. Nobody left on the station survived the cataclysm of nuclear fire, and nobody thought of the consequences.
The blast shifted the moons orbit slightly, but that was enough to cause the weather patterns across the world to go mad. Compounded with that was Magneto’s virus, which had survived to rain down on the planet. It was 3 more years until the weather calmed down, and the plagues ran their courses. Most civilizations were reduced to feudal states, some low tech, some high. We remained in Shadow, until Storm decided it was time to go back, and reclaim what was left of our homeland. A new base was built, in the Andes Mountains, and a new team of X-men lives on. We will survive, we will carry on our calling, we will teach others to live in peace.
We are The Legacy of Xavier.

Rogue

I sat in my room thinking about what had happened in the last few years. It is amazing a life can go from finally having a home, or at least a place to call home, and then to find out that your home is gone.

There was and is nothing left of Xavier, or his school. We are not the gifted, only the cursed. I often think of him and wonder what in life will happen before my own death. Or for that matter, when will I die?

Thanks to the Shadow we have all survived. That is not much compared to what we had. We had the ablitity to rule. Now we are prisoners of our own creation. Hiding out, trying to make sure no one finds us.

I sat holding the test in my hands. It would be a long year, or would it be a long time before any of us were normal again. There was a knock at my door, and so I slid the test in the drawer and said simply, "Free country, well it used to be, so come on in."

Nightcrawler

Lonely...so lonely...rejected as a boy, as a man, moving from place to place...never accepted...until the X-Men...and now...once again...I am forced to hide again...but at least this time others are with me...

It is Rogue I am going to see now...I have been working out...trying to keep my skills of teleportation as sharp as possible...also working on my hand-to-hand combat skills...now that the world has changed, we mutants must adapt even more...

I contemplate all this while getting the nerve up to ask Rogue to help with some moves....I knock on her door and she tells me to come in...

Rogue, like all of us, has always had trouble fitting in...but she had made it...and now...well, we can be what we always wanted, left alone...at least I hope so...

"Hello Rogue...how about some help with some moves...I need some help before my evening meditation..."

Rogue

It was Nightcrawler once again. Only this time I didn't feel like fighting.

"You know, I was just about to go get me something to eat. How 'bout you join me for that?" I asked, trying to concentrate on things other than being in a mountain.

I got up and walked to the door. "Or have you had your fill of bugs today?" I joked. It was always my way to joke to get out of reality and today was not going to be an exception.

Nightcrawler

"Rogue, you have to get out of this funk, but dinner does sound fine..."

We walked towards the kitchen and I tried to think of a way to get Rogue out of here...even with the Earth in this transition phase she needed a break, a way to get rid of some of this tension...as did we all...if only we had something to focus on...something to pull us together the way we used to be...

Elisabeth Braddock / Psylocke

Psylocke stared at the ceiling of her room... lost in her thoughts... The last few years had been so strange, confusing, revealing and tragic... Sometimes she just wished she was still dead. But she had been brought back to life as an experiment from the Human government to create a Mutant-hunter, she was to be a mindless killer following the orders of humans and with the purpose of exterminating what was left of the mutant population outside the so called " death camps ".

The experiment was not completely succesful though, sure they had resurected her, and had in their hands a perfect assasin. Psylocke still had her old telekinetic powers and in the proces of " resurection ", which was nothing more than genetic manipulation and experiments the humans had made her Levitation powers stronger, granting her the ability to fly and move heavy objects at will.

The only flaw was that they were not entirely sucessfull at erasing all memory she had from her past. At the first opportunity she had she had escaped her prison and on her way out of the laboratory which was located in a " death camp " she was able to get Shadowcat and another mutant called Climax out, she tried to do more, but she couldnt, many were left behind... many stayed there to meet their deaths.

Days later she found the remains of the old X-men group, and now after the disaster on Magnetos space station and escape to Shadow, they ahd finally returned and built a new base on the Andes mountains... hiden... again... her memories had returned slowly ,with a lot of help from her old friends. Now they had to decide what would be done. What will the X-men, Where they still the X-men? do after so much chaos and mayhem.

A Full Bio on Archangel

...The atmospher was dark over the earth, completely being demolished with hatred among humans and ...mutants. I vividly remember the words of Professor Xavier asking to join him and find a coexistence between humans and mutants. Now, it cannot happen, atleast not yet. Even I have betrayed him and my friends, for my selfish wanting to belong in the winds again by accepting to Apocalypse's offer, who soon I realized was "En Sabah Nur" a ruthless warlord planning on conquering earth and the universe. I, then became his Fourth Horsemen of Apocalypic terror, Angel of Death. Yes, I did get my wings back as well with the evil of Nur's agenda, transforming me into the angel of his reflection with metalic wings. ...Now I feel as if the Devil has claimed me and not the higher Being Himself.

I watched from the world of Apocalypse, down to earth, as I saw my fellow X-Men who fought for their lives 'til I only saw Xavier and Magnus vacuumed into the flaming abyss. All my goodness had been buried hidden away, when I saw no hope at all. Apocalypse, seeing this chaotic beauty, thundered his way to happiness and crudeness. I knew then that he had a hand in such destruction. I realized that I flew with my new master's dark, metallic reflection of earth's destruction. Filled with disgust, anger, and anguishment of guilt...I left.

Five years had passed, I flew hopelessly to find a X-men. I heard rumors of a new X-men with the power of Shadow had escaped the ruthless chaos. I knew if he had survived, so did the X-Men. I wondered if I'd see my old friend Bobby Drake again, the stubborn fur ball Logan, or most of all...Professor X. He had saved me from a life I couldn't imagine happening, now with his belief I will keep his legacy alive...

...as the Angel of Resurrection

Rogue

The silence was about to kill me as we sat in the caferteria eating. I had to say something, or think and thinking was not an option.

"So, anything new going on down here for you? I hear we may get to leave and return to the outside soon. Well, maybe not you." I laughed.

I looked at the doors, trying to see if anyone else was going to come in. It was too quiet around here. Way too quiet.

Nightcrawler

Rogue was in rare form...moodier than usual and her sense of humor seemed to have left with the sanity of the world. But at least she was company...

I continued to eat what i could, but I had ran out of milk...so...

Bamf ...I grabbed a milk, looked over at Rogue...she was nearly out so I grabbed 2 and Bamf...

"Hear you are sunshine...enjoy...compliments of your fuzzy little elf..."

Goodness I wish we could leave...to see the country side again...even in the shadows...to be out and around the people of earth...the people we had chosen to protect...maybe soon...

If only Xavier were alive...

Gambit - Remy Lebeau

Gambit walked into the dining room to get a bite to eat. Seeing Rogue and Nightcrawler there already, he waved to them in greeting. "Allo Cher, Nightcrawler." His New Orleans accent still apparent.

Since their seclusion he had toned down his "pursuit" of Rogue somewhat, since she had enough to worry about without avoiding him.

Walking to the kitchen he began to make himself a sandwich.

Katherine Pryde, aka Shadowcat

Katherine walked down the hall to the cafeteria... they had done a really great job at building this secret base... and a quick one too. Katherine was one of the few mutants that was locked in a Death camp and survived. All thanks to Psylocke, it had been a shock to see her alive once again, they barely escaped along with Climax a mutant Kitty had meet at the camp. Seemed the last years had been nothing but tragedy, some good news here and there would be nice for a change...

Kitty walked inside the cafeteria, Rogue, Nightcrawler and Gambit were already there.

" Hello guys... hows the wonderfull habitat of the Andes mountains treating you? ", She takes a seat beside Rogue, " I slept like I hadnt ina long time, Im glad the consruction of the base is over... ".

Wolverine- Logan ((Everyone knows Wolvies profile, so i dont think i have to post it and i am the wolvie that wears the brown and black costume not the gay black one in the new comixs))

*He sat under a tree staring at the sky half falling asleep half awake, he dreams of his blurry past, still trying to figure it all out. He lets out a sigh as he just lies there alone, he reaches into his pocket and finds out he has no stogies((cigars))*

"Damn i need a smoke right now"

Rogue

"Hello Remy, Kitty. I am glad someone is sleeping well in this stone tomb." I smirked. I hadn't slept well in a long while, but it seemed as if that was not about to let up so I dealt with it.

"We were just having some food. And a milk, thanks, Nightcrawler. What are you up to this evening." A thought occured to me at that time. "Speaking of doing something. Nightcrawler wanted someone to spar with, wanna challenge yourself, Kitty?"

Nightcrawler

"Come on Kitty...Rogue wasn't in the mood...but maybe if you do, she and Gambit can join us both for a little 2 on 2 in the new danger room...nothing like a great workout to end the day...we could spar with no powers as part of the rules...the less we rely on them the better we learn get along in this world...but your choice sunshine..."

Kurt knew Gambit would probably never go for this but maybe it would snap Rogue out of this funk to go and have a little fun...and the only way to even it up for everyone was to have a new set of rules...and hey, with Kitty showing up, you never know what can happen...

Kurt can hope, but who knows...maybe she is into fuzzy little elves...with great personalities...

Elisabeth Braddock / Psylocke

Psylocke stands up from her bed and walks towards the shower... No use in staying there feeling sorry and thinking over and over about those tragic events... She undresses and slips into the shower, she closes her eyes as she feels the cools spray of water hit her haked body and slide down to the floor. She takes her time bathing, relaxing. After shes done she slips into her usual uniform and with her purple shinny wet hair she walks out of her room.

Psylocke walks slowly down the halls of the base... nothing like the old mansion... that place she and a lot more mutants had called home, a real home where they could live their lives in relative peace...

She walks into the cafeteria, nods to the people in the place, takes a cup of coffe and takes a seat on a table... alone.

Gambit - Remy Lebeau

He takes a bite of his sandwich and turns to look at Nightcrawler.

"Nah Kurt, 'm not in tha mood right now. Maybe next time."

He sees Psylocke enter, noticing her wet hair, filing that bit of information away. That put them at five just happening to go to the cafeteria at roughly the same time.

"Seems this be a meetin place for tonight" He chuckled.

Nightcrawler

Kurt finishes his meal and ponders his next move...looks like no in is in the mood to work out...

"If anyone changes their mind, I am headed to the new danger room...we need to stay sharp folks...if not...then good evening to you all..."

Kurt cleans his and Rogues dishes and heads towards the danger room. He is trying to decide which what to do there...maybe work on his fighting with his staff...something he had been getting better at...yeah, that is it...he will work on fighting with his staff against 4 or 5 holographic enemies...that should get his blood pumping...

Face

Face was sitting in the control center of the danger room, though his mind was eslwhere, litterally. The barely padded metal chair and the keyboard felt miles and miles away from him as he interfaced with the combat simulator. It was facinating, he had never seen anything quite like this in his years with the Krew. He "walked" the system, touching gemoetric translations of files and programs. gleaning purpose of each one.

As he reached out to touch one of the programs, some thing dark and definitly non-geometric passed out of the corner of his eye.

"What?" he turned and saw,
nothing
nothing was there
just him and the rows and rows of normal shapes that made up the system.

"Must have been in here too long," he thought. "I'm the only ghost in this machine."

Allen could feel his real face smile slightly in the controll room. He started to pull his mind back in to his body, leaving the meshwork of grids and icons beind him. When Face opened his eyes he saw Nightcrawler entering the Danger room carrying a staff.

"I wonder what he's up to today?" Face had only been with the group for a few days since they found him passed out in the wilderness that surrounded the base. After two days in the medical lab he began to slowly interact with his new, oh what to call them, comrades? krew? saviors? He was cautious, but slowly the hypertech that the base was crammed with set his curiosity on fire. They didn't seem to ind him exploring and asking questions. No doubt they probably had him monitored and bugged. But Face was shure that he was not their prisoner. The X-Men were a diffrent lot than The Krew. Some of them were legends that the older Krew people whispered about around campfires.

And now one of those legends was standing a few dozen feet below him. Face turned on the intercom and said a cautious
"hello, ah, Nightcrawler. Whats up?"

Nightcrawler

"Hello Face"

Nightcrawler and the rest of the X-Men still knew very little about the one called Face...but he was here and therefore a friend...

"Hey Face, I need to practice and work off some energy...if you like, we could go 2 on 4 against the computer..."

Nightcrawler felt his pulse start to race a little faster as the precombat thoughts raced through his brain...he had been doing this way to long and was lucky to still be alive after a number of close calls...He knew the only way to stay alive was to keep his abilities honed to a super high level...

"Come on Face, let's work on our moves...get to know one another..."

"The more we work together, the more likely we are to save on another when it counts...let's go kid...program that computer to give us some competition and show me what you got..."

"Ok, I've been in side this thing long enough, I should see what it can do."

Allen told the danger room to run a random combat sequence using four assailants. He tied his shoulder length dreads with a rubber band and pulled his fingerless gloves tight against his hands.

Allen ran down the stirs to the floor entrance and tried to psych himself up. combat wasn't his forte. infact the last time he was in a fight things turned out less than spectacular, he still had the scars across his right arm to prove it.

As soon as he entered the Danger Room the walls started to fade away. He stood next to Nightcrawler as the room transformed. it was pitch black for a second then the two mutants were standing in a circle of light. Face could smell Nightcrawler behind him as he kneeled down and removed his knife from the side of his boot.

from the four corners of the room four faceless men appeared. They were dressed alike in simple green bodysuits.

"ok,ok, ok, not so bad, probably just have human stats." Face thought. then he felt his stomch drop to his legs. The man inthe North corner held out his hand and a pyramid of flame materialized into his palm. The simulation in the West held his arms over his head and arcs of electricity passed between them.

Face assumed that something equally challenging was happening in the east and south ends of the room. He didn't have time to look though as North flung his flame pyrimid straight at his head.
Allen ducked and rolled to his right, he could feel the heat of the pyramid pass inches away from his head. He came out of his roll fant enough to see it return in to the hand of North.

"this," he thought "is going to be no walk in the park."

ooc:
Am I writing too much?

Nightcrawler

As Face took the attention of the North and West advisaries, I was left with South and East...

It seemed like North was fire, West was lightening, South was Ice, and I thought that East would be water...

South threw a spear of Ice at me but after working with Iceman over the years, this was easy...

BAMF I transported behind our computerized icefoe and gave him a terrific shot to the head, effectively knocking him out of the fight...the computer, seeing this opponent out, made him disappear.

Then I heard something I had never heard without teleporting...BAMF I was hit in the back while trying to figure out what had happened...

I turned and our foe from the East was on top of me...seems he wasn't the water elemental that I assumed...he had the same ability I did...teleportation...and while I was deailng with the Ice creep, he gave me what I normally gave...

A smile crept across my face...*this should be fun* I said to myself...

I looked across the room at the new kid...looked like he might be having a little trouble...but i didn't want to interfere unless he asked...I know he needed to prove himself...

Archangel

Flying around, not knowing where to look, I decided to take a break. I figured I'd stop by my office in New York City, if it still lay there. New York wasn't as the same anymore once I got there, the street that was once lit with street lights and the bright buildings, has perished into debris and high beams still standing high. One thing didn't change the siren of the cops and the ambulance. Except now, the police are around in search for mutants and the doctors trying to save only human lives.

I found a dark place between two building and decided to keep myself low. As I landed on the ground, I shifted my wings into my shoulder...a thing I couldn't do with my feathered wings. I only had the main blades buldging out, which wasn't too hard to hide.

Suddenly, someone hugged me from behind and yelled to give him my wallet. Some things never change... I grabbed his hands, flung out my wings, pushing him above me while me pulling him and throwing him into the trash can. He lay there unconscience while I stripped him for his trench coat. Somehow this coat wasn't his, typical. Walking out of the pathway, I pulled up the collars and walked towards Times Square, or what is left of it.

At Times Square, I walked down underpath to the subway station. Everything was deserted, filled with grafitti, blood all over the floor and the tracks completely destroyed.

"Hey you!" I heard someone say from behind on the staircase, "you bet no go in there man, them mutes live there."

"How do you know?" I interrogated him.

"Na man, I'd heard it around...are you the pOlese?"

"...Yes." I walked in silently.

Once the man walked back outside, I threw the coat and flew through the train tracks towards downtown. I was surprised to find myself flying through a narrow surface. These new wings didn't need air to glide, I just flew.

It didn't take me any time to get to wallstreet. Once landed I presumed myself to the ground and walk quitely walked upstairs out of the station. What I'd seen when I got outside was surprising; although the streets weren't clean, there was civilization, human civilization. Apparently, this place was the only place that was cultured with all the humans. My business used to be here, I wondered if its still here or has been taken over by other corporates.

I walked up to my building, looking up...cannot believe it hadn't change, why?

The doorman interrupted, "Nice to see you again Mr. Worthington. It's been awhile." He smiled as he greeted me in.

ARCHANGEL, Warren Kenneth Worthington III

West and North began to converge on Face. He felt the sweat building between his fingertips and the grip of the knife. He saw the electric charge from West build and then an arc of blue white light shoot from between the advisaries arms. He felt the light cut in to the tip of his elbow as he dodged out of the blasts way.
"I can't keep dodging them forever." he thought as he slammed in to the battle room floor. "I have to neutralize the advantage they have over me in distance."

He could see that North was bringing his arm up to throw another flaming pyramid at him. Instead of rolling out of the way and putting more distance between him and the two attackers, Allen quickly got up in a crouch that turned in to a leap that sent him slamming in to West.

Face brought his knife up to West's chest to stab him but abruptly had his feet knocked out from under him by North. He hit the floor on his side but quickly rolled on to his back and drove his blade in to the foot of North. North's body jerked in some imitation of pain. Allen rammed his shoulder hard in to North's groin knocking him down.

"what bitch" Allen though as he saw the flame dissapear from Norths hand. The suddenly he remembered West. Who would have had plenty of time to develop another blast at him. He turned around and was quite suprised by the fist that connected with his face and sent him sprawling back several feet in shock.

Nightcrawler

I saw that Face had done some damage to our Western opponent and knew he would be fine...he just seemed nervous...hesitant...that could be deadly in a real fight...decided to throw a curve into this to see how he handled it...

BAMF I port behind our flaming friend and trip him with the staff...he starts to get up and i see our teleporting friend from the East disappear...

BAMF ..."FACE...LEFT...NOW" ...I grab West around the neck with my tail and yank him back down from where he was trying to go after Face's now turned back...I squeeze...and he disappears...i lay down...feeling good from the work out and allow my new friend to deal with the last of our adersaries...

Wraith

The shadows whirled and leaped around me in the firelight chamber deep below the earth. This is where I came to think. No, actually I am brooding while I am here. Nobody but me can get here, except for possibly Nightcrawler, but he has never been in my sanctuary, so I was in no danger of an intrusion.
“Hey boss, the boys and me were wondering when we were gonna have some more fun topside”
I looked over at the 4-foot tall creature standing before me. Torn jeans, Korn T-shirt, baseball cap on backwards, & a extremely large handgun sticking out of his waistband. One of these days I’m gonna find out where he gets his reloads.
“ Squint, I do have a operation, but it is for me to decide when it happens. For now be patient, & stay out of Storms room!”
“Yokay boss.” & he was gone with a twist of the shadows in the room.
Well, time for work to start.
“ Odin, status report. Give me the location of the X-men in the base.”
The AI’s voice echoed through the chamber in its rich baritone: “Currently Nightcrawler and Face are running a combat simulation in the Danger room, and Psylocke, Gambit, Shadowcat, and Rogue are in the cafeteria. All others are either outside sensor range or have their privacy mode up on their comlinks.
“ Thank you Odin, That will be all.”
I concentrated and the shadows enveloped me, and I stepped out of them outside the cafeteria. I then resumed my normal human form and walked in to get breakfast.
