As winter approaches, I'm looking for indoor entertainment, my parameters are;
*Ease of operation, no glitches or lockups.
*Availability of games (less means more $$$)
*Where to find the best buy (internet or store)
Thankyou in advance for any help!:D

I have the PS2, and games are already dropping in price. I tend to buy used games and it has been out long enough to have some really good choices.

Amazon has a great deal that I bought.

You get the system, extra controller, memory, and 6 months of a magazine.

That by itself was a little over $300.

Also you get to add anything you want to this package and I ended up ordering Silent Hill 2,Resident Evil:Code Veronica, and a Gameshark.

It was just over $500 for all that.

Shipped it real fast too,I ordered it on a Friday, received it by the next Wednesday.

lovetoread, thankyou for the input. I just have to comment on your AV. It is one of the most erotic poses I've seen, as I'm a outdoor sex freak. Thankyou for it, and the erection I get when I ponder the view.:p

Ooops I changed it before I read this....

I will remember that comment when I change it back. ;)

PS2. More games, a wider variety of games, some of the newer PS1 games will play on it, and it doubles as a DVD and audio CD player for those of us who only want one unit to do it all.

X-box doesn't actually have that much over PS2 for graphics and who wants to support Bill's Empire anymore than we have to? I think you're also lucky if you can find 8 games for it.

Sony has always had the intelligence to let people who didn't work directly for them design and market PS games so they've always had an extremely wide variety and fresher, more interesting games than Nintendo did. Nintendo's done the same, but they're cartridge based and that just doesn't keep up with CD technology. Sega cut its own throat by insisting all games be produced in house.

X-box could have some future as a game system, it's got nice graphics. However, the games they have are already done by other systems and they cost more. Not to mention Xbox is a one function deal while PS2 would actually serve as an entertainment center.

Nintendo's new system is based on a custom sized CD, not a cartridge.

PS2 is what I'd go with. Not only because of all the reasons KM listed above, but also because I don't like Nintendo switching systems so often. Not only because you then have to buy a new system, but because they often won't support their older system afterwards. Gameboy being the obvious exception.

*quivers at sexy-girl's AV *

sorry but i just quiver.

I am getting it. I love nintendo,no matter what they do. Just having to wait till all the rush is over before I buy it.

i would actually go for the x-box mearly because its a newer machine and more powerful ... its a year newer thats a LONG time in computer terms ... also microsoft are going to support it very well they have too

there will be a lot of good games for it im sure

but your right most of the good games are on the PS2 at the moment but thats because its been out longer

and as far as i know the x-box can also play dvd's too ... its also the first console with a hard disk :)

Sony PS2 or Microsoft X-box?

Definitely going to have to stick with the Sony PS2 here.. For those of you on Lit that have had the pleasure of playing Grand Theft Auto III on the PS2, you know what I'm talking about.. Talk about addicting.. That game defines addiction.. I started playing it @ 8 PM one night and didn't stop till 8 AM the next morning.. Anywho.. Aside from GTA III, the PS2 has some really bitching games.. When NFS High Stakes 2 comes out, that game is going to burn any racing game you've ever seen - arcade or sim..

Oh my...that game looks like a movie to me. The graphics are great. I prefer Devil May Cry right now,I can play forever on it.
