I googled the title of one of the series that I have posted on Literotica and it came up on a different site: www.sexeroticstories.org. When I googled more, I found a reference to a thread here about authors here being ripped off. I have tried to search to find the thread but it doesn't come up. Maybe it is too old?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get my stories off of that other site? They don't seem to have a "contact us" link, nor do they give credit for the stories and I want my writing removed. Grrr.

Any help or suggestions as to who to contact? Thanks.
Welp. That's all I had to hear.

Who can I contact here at Lit to take my stories down?

Welcome to AH, Ordinary Girl. I would welcome you to Lit. but if you have been here a couple years, it is pretty late.

Having stories pirated is a normal hazard here. The site you mentioned and a related site have ripped off about a hundred of mine, at least the first pages of them. Other sites have stolen many of them also, and some individuals have plagiarized them and posted them under their own names.

What bothers me the most about piracy is when somebody takes a nice, gentle story of consensual sex and post it to some site about violent rape. I have written only one story about violent rape and will probably never write another, although my Halloween Contest story involves a series of non-violent rapes.

Thanks for the shout on the site. I checked last time there was a thread about them, but they hadn't stolen my stories. So I was thinking "YAY, I'm safe!" and then I was thinking "how bad do I suck when even a cheap rip-off site won't jack my stories?"

But anyway, they've got one of mine, and I've PMd Laurel, even if this is based overseas.

Well, thanks to snowy, I've seen this thread. Although I used to hang out here, I don't get over here that much, any more. I now feel like I've arrived, because my stories are being stolen. Strange, that I feel that way, but that's just how the Internet works, I guess.

And, once our forum posts started coming up on a Google search, I figured it was only a matter of time before more erotica loving people would be checking out Literotica. And, with erotica loving people, you get the slug types, too.

Strange, the chapters they took of my stories, 14 in all. None of them were continuous, although in all of my longer stories, one chapter picks up where the last one left off. And, only the first page of each was there. Like some others have said, what if the hot sex scenes don't start until the second page? Or, what if one just begins towards the bottom of the first page, and the ultimate pay off is on the second page?

It's very strange that in a number of cases, what they took wasn't of much substance. And, although I'm a bit flattered, because I wasn't asked and because I am not getting credit, I'll be sending a PM to Laurel. But, don't get your hopes up, folks. I don't think the Chinese porn cops care much about our stuff being stolen.

Like I said in the earlier thread, they ripped off a lot of the Snippettsville Chain stories, too. What they probably haven't realised, is that the Author's name on each and every little 600-word story in those collections is a link. Guess where the link leads? Yep, straight back to Lit!

I wonder how many readers we might actually have gained from that? I guess I'm resigned to the piracy, but quite why my work seems to be linked to some of the sites it is bemuses me more than slightly.

Alex

Ugh!! They got one of mine, too. Now I'm wondering - should I be flattered that they stole one, or humiliated that they only stole one?

I think one of the dumbest things about this site is that they only take the first page. Sometimes this will really leave readers up in the air. I just took a look, and one of mine that has been pirated is "Sunny Loves it in Her Ass". As you can guess, it is purely a stroke story. Anyhow, the pirated versions ends with "Sunny was just about to cum".

I think that if I were reading stories on the site, I would be really pissed off about being cut off like that.

These guys have been shut down before, and there is a lawyer working on the issue again. The delay is that they are using some infrastructure that is claiming to be in China.

Adult sites are illegal in China, so in theory we should be able to have them taken down even if they are hosted over there, but it's taking a little more time than last time.

Not sure why they insist on harassing Lit. :(

They're also using http://www.sexstoryxxx.org/ and posting the same stories, just in reverse alphabetical order. The sites look almost identical, but with a few more story catagories.

*Chuckle* That one has two early chapters of Danica, not including the first. One page out of seven, with author's notes referring to Lit left intact.

Whoever this is, they're lazy and about as intelligent as your average mop handle, obviously.

Exact searches ;)

"as I walked down the street, counting the five dollars and change I had left to my name"

Some line like that in your story. No character or place names. The odds of anyone else using the exact same series of that many words as you is pretty slim.

It won't catch everything but it is a quick way to look.

Don't forget the quotes, that's what tells it to search for that exact phrase.

That's the way to do it. I used a long line from one of my stories out of sheer curiosity and found it two places, here and at nifty.org, in a story that someone had copied from me, changed the names and location and posted. I contacted nifty, documenting the dates of posting of both stories and supplying them with copies of the stories and they pulled that other one that same day.

I found a couple of my stories on that site. Like a couple of other commentors, I take my time (some say wayyyy to much..."Get to the POINT Patti") before the sex arrives so I don't think either one is going to do anyone much good.

My main objection is the lack of credit. Hey, put my name on it.

I did some looking and comparing with the Lit stories. From what I've seen every story on their site has been stolen from Lit. They've not taken ALL Lit stories, but don't seem to have any original work of their own.

I think I'm going to eat some worms...

Sigh still no thefts of any of my stories!!!!! I really want someone to think they're worth stealing. I mean people can say all sorts of nice things, but if someone steals your work they're saying they can make money from it...

Oh and does anyone know the rest of the quote I used? In some ways my English is locked in a time wrap. (Long story) I tried to google it and came up blank.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it has anything to do with content. If you look at what has been taken (the first page only, in most cases), they didn't seem to care much about content. If they did, they should include a link to Lit "for the rest of the story." Their readers have GOT to be a bunch of frustrated wankers.

*sigh* Apparently it's been so long since I've submitted a story they must be too far back to steal...that or they really really suck...or don't have enough sex in them....or...hey, maybe they're too afraid of me to steal them :D

Ok, ok...so I need to get off my ass and write some new material - maybe when the baby's asleep and the floors are vaccuumed and dinner's cooked and the kitchen's been cleaned and.....

Thanks for the update, Manu. It's great to know the status on this issue. :)

Just a bump, in case there are others that don't know about this.

Send a PM to Laurel with details. You will find Laurel in the Authors Please Read thread at the top of the Author's Hangout.

However, I think that site is now registered in the People's Republic of China so Laurel may not be able to help.

Better CC Don Rumsfeld, in that case. It's about time we invaded and got those Chinese and their disregard for copyrights and patents sorted out.

These same people have been stealing from us all year. The various sites must have a hundred or more of mine. Hopefully, we can shut them down and maybe cost them a ton of money. Or maybe get them locked up in a Chinese jail. That would be nice. I don't really care all that much that they take my stories. If they gave me credit and included a link to Lit., I would be fine with that. :D

Fuckers

They've got 5 of my stories. They have so many Literotica stories I wouldn't doubt that every author has been ripped off.
