how could these people go home? what ever you call it, the bail out failed and they went home! what we need is someone to stand up, and fix it! in a way like Regan did.

You do realise this is a porn board, not a politics board, right?

Someone mentioned a Jewish holiday...

I agree that if they can't fix this mess with prayer, they should stay at work regardless of who's religious holiday it is. Does Wall Street get a holiday? I don't think so.

GOOD FREAKING THING they went home. Do you REALLY want the same people who CAUSED the problems to be the ones who attempt to solve it? Yikes!.....Carney

It's the same old story as Iraq - the Rs cause it, the Ds have to clean it up.

Everything happens in cycles. Store up oin canned goods and any other survival items you can get. The depression is coming back.

The "Rs" cause it? Please check your score-card re: who are on the banking committees. Noted fudge-packer Barney Frank is front and center.

Oh, is that it? I just got an e-mail from a publisher that they were on holiday tomorrow. I was scratching my head over what holiday it might be. But a Jewish one? This was a government service academy academic press. Hmmmm.

I'm generalizing - you know, like deregulation and underfunding regulatory agencies and K Street writing the legislation for the last eight years? But since there was a fudge-packer on the banking committee, go ahead and blame him. In fact, you could probably go to DC with a baseball bat and really teach him a lesson. Would that make you feel better?

(Doesn't 'fudge-packer' belong on the general board?)

I heard it on NPR, so even if it's true, it's nothing but liberal propaganda disguised as news.

I'm guessing ol' Carney feels his virtually dropped sack a lot more talking shit about the "fudge packers" online rather than taking it to one's face in reality. Just a educated guess from the observation of many online homophobes during several years of BBS interaction.

I wish I could parse this post to see what the fuck it means, because I'd really like to rebut it. But, since it makes no grammatical sense in the first place, my wishes are perforce thwarted.....Carney

Awwww...Carney baby...if your brain made it this far, it surely could've tried harder to go the distance, yes?

Don't worry. I'm sure everyone who has something against those "fudge-packers" will be by your side.

Oh, by being "by your side," I mean not by your backside. I don't want you to get me wrong. "No homo" and all that shit.

Here Irezumi, let me translate - I speak dumb-ass:

Carnevil9 - you are a homophobic idiot. I personally do not care for Barney Frank's politics, but his personal sexuality has no bearing on this thread, unless you are a gay-bashing dumb-ass (which you obliviously are). So kindly shut the fuck up and sit down, unless you have something GERMAINE to say.

[dumb-ass translation mode off]

Rosh Hashanah -- The Jewish New Year ( Leviticus 23:23-24). Also known as the Day of Judgement, is Tuesday and Wednesday, September 30, and October 1, 2008.

Fitting? Uh... yeah...

People used to joke aboutt Bankers hours but I wish I got paid $169,000 for 150 days work or less every year!

no. for years under bush and co. the rich and corporations got huge tax breaks. i.e.- rich man's welfare. let them fix it. they fucked it up.

well if you're going to print money with nothing to back it, sell things that you don't own, sell the promise of things that you may never own and borrow things to sell then buy back what can you expect?

Ummm well the economy is actually in such a pitiful state not because of government. It is in such a sad state because of the population, they went out and bought more than they could afford on credit and couldn't afford minimum payments. Oddly enough the first thing to not be paid is mortgage, I don't understand it, but apparently it is more important to have cable, cell phones and pay to play games than to have a paid for house to live in.

Granted the idiots who approved the loans for more than the person/family could afford to pay are at fault for the banks failing. The stock market tends to follow the money, if the traders are having to move and not making enough to afford a house, stocks tend to be sold so they can not move a little longer. Which has a secondary effect, they tend to not buy stocks again for a while, why the market is going down more than going up.

Bush is at fault for two things wrong with the economy. First, the price of gas, because he just had to attack Iraq, one of the big suppliers of oil, gas went up just in case there was a huge loss of oil besides the limited/no supply from Iraq because of the attack. The second thing he is guilty of is the loss of monies sent elsewhere to fund the attack on Iraq. Gotta buy the gas they are using over there, along with the medical supplies and ammunition of various sorts. Not everything our troops use is made in America, the company may be based here, but alot of the production is elsewhere for cheaper manufacture.

On a side note, what happened to getting the day off when it is your religion having a holiday, not everybodies? I mean dang what the heck is this, somebody is having a holiday today let's go home. Though I suppose it doesn't matter a whole lot if congress goes home, the white house is where the plans are made. Though obviously they shouldn't be thought up there.

Senate is still working. They will be voting today on a slightly ammended 'bail-out' bill tacked onto the Renewable Energy Tax Break bill - there is some irony there but it's difficult to see between all the removal men packing up Republican tenures.
