Maybe I committed an Author faux-paus, but I decided to write a story in the male perspective (and of course, I'm a female). It's pending in the ranks, and I'm suddenly nervous of the reaction....is it a general rule to avoid first person stories of the opposite gender ? I thought I did quite well, even let a male friend read it over, and he was very happy with it -- would anyone like to comment ? (and please, try not to mop the floor with my head, LOL!)

Thanx,

I never had a problem with it, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it's particularly bad, you may get one or two bitching because you referred to the dick as a clit, but hey, they'll get over it right? If it's particularly good, you may get one or two bitching because they thought you were a guy and well, damn it, they just don't want to send nekkie pix of themselves to a girl, they can send away anyway, right?

Don't worry about it, you'll be just fine and so will your readers and your story.

I've written most of my stories from a female perspective. So far, I haven't gotten any complaints.

As for writing it in th efirst person - I wouldn't think that there would be a problem unless the character himself was not believable.
