what 'media' should I use when composing a story.? when I use 'Note pad and then paste I lose the format, will pasting 'word pad' allow me to keep the format, is 'Jarte Plus' any good. I have one story presented to 'Literotica' on 'Note Pad' which they liked but were unable to publish because of the format. I also have a sequel to 'February Sucks' [not another one] which at the moment I,m typing on 'word pad'. My English is first class and have exam passes in English Grammar I also have another story 'My Beautiful Wife Emma' with 3 of about 10 chapters written. I have an agile mind and am English. Any help would be great. A frustrated author:

For minor formatting, stuff like bold and italics, you have two options.

#1: Compose in any software that will let you save in a .docx format (MS Word, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, various others). Use the option to submit the story as an attachment, and the site will convert that formatting for you. Note: if you do it this way you won't be able to preview the story.

#2: Paste into the text box, but use HTML coding to add formatting, e.g. <i>italic text</i> or <b>bold text</b>. If you go this way, make sure to close your tags properly.

This tool might be helpful in converting Word-style text to HTML tagging: https://www.textfixer.com/html/convert-word-to-html.php

Literotica doesn't support much beyond minor formatting. You can't change font or colour, for instance.

The standard writing program of the publishing world, for better or worse, is Word. That's what I use. I then copy and paste my story in the Literotica submissions box, having manually set up italics and bold, which I use at the minimum, as the publishing industry prefers, and I don't have any formatting trouble with stories posting to Literotica.

It sounds like Note Pad doesn't place a paragraph mark between paragraphs, I'll have to check that out.

When pasting into the submission form, you will need to place two returns between paragraphs before you copy and paste.

Hmm... is seems that Note Pad place some extra spacing to a line of text.

You should try Open Office or Libre Office. These are Word clones and if set up correctly, you can copy and paste right into the submit form without any worries about losing formatting. You will have to do the HTML for bold, italics, underline, etc. Oh and using Center will add a blank line after the line you center so keep that in mind.
