I would like to work with a female submissive writer in collaboration on a story. I would like to swap "chapters" back and forth with her. I would write one chapter, describing part of a larger story line from my perspective. Then she would write the next chapter, briefly recapping the story from HER perspective, and then taking the story line a step further. I'd give her MY perspective, and so on.

I've started one such story here with a woman, who, while not submissive, thought she could get into the role. She could not, and having no understanding of Dominance and submission, took the story line in simply the wrong direction. She also found her real time life interfering way too much with maintaining the story thread.

I've had a couple of other women write to me to say that they were interested in participating, but when I wrote them back and asked for some background information, to make the story more realistic, they never answered.

One sample of my writing has been posted in the BDSM subject group.

So, serious inquiries only, PLEASE.

i think if you had said male or female you would have been flooded with responses. why not just find a style of story you like then approach the author and see if they will help you write one? its worked a couple of times for me when i've had a female author read over what i done and change a couple of things that made absolutely no sense from a female viewpoint lol.

But... I DID

"I would like to work with a female submissive writer "

thought that was fairly specific.

I think part of your problem, Kurt, could be in what "background information" you requested.

Most people are very careful about handing out any personal information whatsoever to people they don't know at all. That may be why you never heard back from those you asked.

Just my two cents.

Background Info

Background info like... "what do you look like, what are your interests and limits, how old are you?" Seemed like pretty innocuous stuff to me. They didn't even have to be real... but it just doesn't work if you're writing a D/s scene, and you write that you bind the woman's breasts, and you find out that she's a 32A. Or you run your fingers through their hair, only to find out they shave their head to show off the tattoos. Likewise, suppose you write a GS scene, and they are totally turned off by the idea?

Know what I mean?

But thanks for the comments.

Some of us have heard the other side of that story. Since the lady is a published (for money) novelist in the BDSM field, it seems odd that she has no understanding of it.

Well...

Well, my apologies if I have offended your friend. I didn't think it would make much difference mentioning my assessment of her situation, since our correspondence was supposed to be private and I gave no clue as to her identity. Funny that you felt a need to defend her. Perhaps you are the person who encouraged her to enter into the correspondence at the start? I find that people who have never experienced D/s first hand do not have a good grasp of the dynamics of the relationships. Since the majority of the population fits that category, the unexperienced writer would be writing for an equally unexperienced readership, and hence good grasp of the dynamics would not be required.

Dominance and submission is a very personal lifestyle choice. Perhaps what I should have said was that she had no understanding of "my definition" of D/s. Because there is NO ONE absoute and correct definition of D/s. What is right for one couple is not necessarily right for the next pair. So, while HER definition may be fine for her, it did not mesh with mine.

Be that as it may, I did not disparage the lady's writing ability. She simply took the story in a direction that plainly did not work for me. So, your point would be?

I did not say, or imply that she had been offended. I said that I found your opinion of her understanding of D/S odd, as in difficult to comprehend.

As I said:

As cloudy has pointed out you are most of the problem, not the persons that have tried to work with you. We can't all be wrong. Good luck with future projects that you are now back in my ignore list good-bye

Oh, please

how many? Any communication problem has two components. And how very adult of you to comment and then close the door. I think you've proven the adage "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."
