I just thought I would harvest some of your ideas here. I have one person that I currently bounce writing ideas off of but I think it is a healthy and productive thing to have a larger circle of writing friends. I just was curious if there were many people here that knew of the best place to find these writing groups or writing buddies? In my experience, it just helps to have another set of critical eyes and a keen mind to mold story ideas into actuality.

i hope i am not bothering anyone by posting in here.

I'd say this place would be your kiddy rainyguy. I met my wonderful and talented editor WSO (GBHLCS) through the board and also a couple of good friends who I show some of my work to. Plus there is the Story Discussion Circle which allows you to get a critique on your story before you post.

Most of us are starved for serious literary topics on here (mainly because we spend all of our time here talking toot rather than actually writing anything) so if you have any questions that you want help with or suggestions, then feel free to ask. We'll be more than happy to help.

rainyguy,

If you're looking for an in-person group, check out a local library or book store. If you have any sort of college nearby, some poor soul in the English dept. may have a lead. There are also some good, on-line critique/writer's groups. Unfortunately, there are even more that suck.

Story Ideas

Rainyguy-

I have met several writers here with whom it is productive to bounce ideas around.

The stories ideas board is another place to thrash through ideas.

Thanks for posting. Welcome!

I look forward to reading that form letter,

I'll edit my version of it, to include a 10th commandment: Always regard MG's posts as something dangerous.;)
