I don't do resolutions but goals are just something to aim for and even professional footbalers miss them sometimes.

What do aim to do with your writing in 2007?

here are mine:

* to write for 2-3 hours a day 5-6 days a week -no excuses.
* to promote my published stuff for at least 1 hour a day, every day.
* to learn more about the basics (grammar books here I come!)
* to read for atleast 2 hours a week. (I've not read enough books this year)

And I think that's quite enough for me, thanks :p

How about you?

Fuck! I can make all kinds of personal resolutions, but the concrete ones always kick my ass.

Okay, let's see how vague I can make this ...

* I will become (in my own biased eyes) a better writer
* I will become a more productive writer
* I will leverage my work for maximum exposure
* I will expand my knowledge of all aspects of the publishing business
* I will sell more work outside of the niche I've carved at Phaze
* I will write more poetry
* I will encourage others to pursue their dreams of publication
* I will finish at least one of my novels

There! *wipes brow*

Well done Imp! *grins* I have to be the otherway -if I don't write down concrete things I will never ever get close to what I want to get done.

I plan to do as much as I can for the new Portuguese section of Literotica. I want to write more in Portuguese, and might even enter the Survivor contest this year, with the sole purpose of writing one story in each category.

Write more, promote more.

That's it for me. I do anything more concrete than that and I'll set myself up for disappointment.

. . . to write.

And to not feel guilty to my family about devoting my time to it.

Any time you need support, or a kick in the ass, just ask.

My yearly commitment has already been made- I'm quitting smoking. I also have two postal projects going. But if you want writing things...

I don't do yearly resolutions on those. I do monthly schedules.

The second post down is the January schedule.

My goal is to spend less time THINKING about writing and more time actually WRITING! (i'm too easily distracted at the moment)
I want to improve my writing as much as i can in 2007. :nana:

I will finish SOMETHING by the time I shave my head htis spring, and post it online :D

That's the only goal that I stand a chance in hell of accomplishing. Everything else would be shooting for the moon and beyond, and I just know that I can't meet the goals set if I aim any higher than I just did (which, with all of the half finished stories I have laying around, I should be able to polish up one of them, maybe... ;) )

I'd be happy to write a piece that was more than a simple blog.

Writing is writing, Sweet. Don't sell yourself short. Journaling/blogging is a good way to stay in the habit of writing until you CAN devote time to other fictional/non-fictional pursuits. :rose:

My goals:
I will write, every day. (Blog and/or fiction.)
I will read, every day.

I refuse to force myself to write. I refuse to force myself to do anything. My only goal is to have no goals whatsoever. My life is good :D

It is my plan to write at least one story for every category on Lit.

My style may not be 'edgy' enough for some of them, but we shall see.

Oh yes, and contribute at least three stories to each contest.

One and 1/2 down for Valentines Day, BTW.

Well, back to writing.

Peace (in 2007).

I have two writing goals for this year... and they are kind of at cross-purposes with each other, lol.

1. Get my first story published. (I don't count the already in existance Coming Together, not that it's not a fantastic collection but that it was accepted on the whole and not based on my story.)

1. Win the Survivor Contest. I don't know if I can considering what it takes to win, but I think this is the last year I'm going to participate, and I'd like to go out with a bang, lol.

Thanks, Selena. :) I'm not hanging my hopes on it or anything. I've entered every year with the goal to win and haven't succeeded yet, lol. Okay, maybe in 2006 I didn't enter to win. I knew I wouldn't be able to write that much.

I'd like to focus and finish at least one novel/novella out of the four I have in limbo, instead of new plot ideas sidetracking me. So, that's my writing goal for 2007.

Get er' dun!

Finish my novelette/novel/thingamabob.

Finish my play.

Enter at least one Lit competition. Never have, so I'm due. Probably Valentine.
