Writing custom stories

I seem to recall people talking about getting money for writing custom/personalized stories for people, and I'm curious about how it works. I thought ebay had been mentioned but I'm not really finding anything like that there. So...who does this? How much money do you get? How do you find buyers? etc etc If you use ebay, how do you list? what cat, etc?

lots of erotica websites contain ads or offers for custom writing. since most erotic authors aren't rolling in dough, many of the best of them--e.g., Susannah Indigo-- do such work, charging usually a couple hundred for a small story.

you could try googling for 'custom erotica' or going to any of a number of linked sites, e.g., that of Susie Bright. or just google for erotic writing and look at the personal sites of writers.

I do it. I don't make much, in fact the most I ever made was $300 bucks and that was because there was a betting pool involved, but I do it nonetheless.

Generally, I charge $5/page. The person I'm customizing for provides names, descriptions, and a general concept of what they want - light bondage, romance, a particular fantasy, and I guarantee a turnaround time of 14 days, plus complete ownership of the story for NON PUBLISHING PURPOSES. (Contracts are a good thing, fyi) There are only two copies of each story - the one they get, which I take to Kinko's to have professionally printed on good quality stock paper and bound in a tasteful manner, and the copy that goes into the Notebook From Hell that lives in my safe.

Main customers: bachlorette party planners, who put it into the basket prepared for the honeymoon. Occasionally, birthday presents or anniversary presents, and once as a "I'm breaking up with you" consolation prize. I have things I absolutely WON'T do: Non Consent, Incest, or heavy S&M, but I very seldom have requests for that kind of thing.

And the $300 one? well, the bet was i couldn't work peanut butter and otters into an erotic story and STILL make it hot. I gleefully collected my winnings when the entire male population of the table couldn't get out of the booth when it was time to pay the check. No, I don't gloat. Never. :bats eyelashes:

Quite a few of my first person stories were written like that. In particular, "I Call on Lotchie", "Gayle Massages Me" and "Karen's Birthday", which is a six part novella. Nobody ever paid me anything, though; I just like to do it.
