Just came across this interesting resource:

Neat stuff including historical railroads, settled areas, city plans overlaid on modern maps, etc. etc.

Might be useful for research or inspiration to those writing historical American fiction, though sadly it only goes up to the 1930s.

Same as the poster above. Nice find. Little clunky (web design) on my phone. Couple maps I pulled up wouldn't full screen and panning around the window was awkward. Probably better on a pc but worth the look, even on mobile.

Yeah, I looked at it on my desktop and it didn't seem like something that would be easy to make mobile-friendly.

Too clunky, and my paper atlases and charts cover as much as I need. YMMV/
