I have been out of the writing scene for some time now...OK for a couple of years now, but I have relocated and want to get back to writing again. One problem: I seem to be suffering from a severe case of Writer's Block. I get a great idea for a story and when I sit down to write it my mind goes blank. No matter what I try, I can't seem to get my stories down! Help!

Writer's block sucks. Sometimes just writing anything helps loosen things up....a few small sentences, then a few paragraphs.
I hope it passes soon.:rose:

When that happens to me, I walk away from the computer and just pretend that I'm telling the story, in a conversational tone, to a friend. After that, I can usually go back and write it.

Good luck!!  Morgana :rose: :rose:

My cure for the blockage has always been to read something by a writer whose work I admire...like Hemingway, for example....and allow his words to inspire me past the slump.

Dictate the rough draft.

Find the razor's edge between the freedom of drunk enough and fingers won't cooperate.

Good luck! And welcome to the AH.
