Writerly Reading Aides.

If you wanna create life-like characters I recommend these two books: AMERICAN CLASS by Paul Fussell, and SCRIPTS PEOPLE LIVE by Claude Steiner.

Fussell sorts Americans into their respective breeds, from bottom feeding derelicts thru what passes for American Royalty. Every class dresses distinctly, eats distinctly, plays distinctly, works distinctly, and makes flower planters from distinctly different stuff. The lowest grade of proletariat uses beer bottles, other lowlifes use truck tires, and their betters prefer car tires painted white.

Fussell helped me understand the 60s and Liberals. Fussell is a liberal, so he knows.

The book furnishes a writer with all the basic traits for characters.

SCRIPTS PEOPLE LIVE is about what goes on tween the ears of people. It helps identify frogs and princes, and what they do to be who they are. Scenes almost write themselves once you understand how frogs and princes interact with the world.

I use it every day. Thank you for noticing!
The roles are; "Parent," "Child" and "Adult."

I can't think of one, single, TA theorist that has a role entitled "Turd."

I think you've been doing it wrong.

Pig Parent was the old name for TURD.

You're trying to play parent on a forum that doesn't care about your professed role.

Actually I'm in the child ego state, thumbing my nose at you. But you cant see the sneer.

As for the others, well, I watched a show today about how stupid venture capitalists are, and how they hoist their noses at opportunities that grow into 100s of billions of dollars. I have no heart to cheat the gang out of their stupidity if they truly embrace it strongly....and I think they do...many of them.
