I have a story idea that I would like to have someone help write it. I have written a story which is selling like hot cakes on ebay. I don't have the time it takes right now to write it myself but I'd love to work with someone to get it written.

Probably since anyone who actually wishes to have people want to do a story with him would tell us what the story is on Ebay that is selling like hotcakes.

Maybe I am a tad jaded, but I thought the only books selling like hotcakes on Ebay are those game guides and how to be a millionaire in 24 hours.

I haven't ever ventured to E-bay before, seriously, but I thought it was mostly an "auction trade" of used goods? Does that mean this man had a book made in print and could not "sell" them in bookstores?

That's likely exactly what it means to be honest. But that doesn't mean that it is bad perse, just that he couldn't find a publisher. I'm a damn bit better than some of the stuff that gets published (I know cus I read some of that crap. I swear when I find out who I have to kill to write novels based on card games and video games that bitch is going down. Then I'm going to find out who I need to kill to be the guy who writes novel adaptations of movies and that guy is going down too.

But I digress. You could go through one of those self publishing places print up a hundred or so of your books and sell them on ebay, hell if you played it right you might even be able to get people to bid on it. Label them as signed copies by up and coming author so and so and make it wound like it will be worth soemthing someday.

Still until I see a name of this book so I can go look it up on ebay myself I don't believe. I'd be more than happy to help if I believed however.

Judging by the non crowd at the airport IHOP down here, not very. Maybe they shouldn't have run the free-lance pharmaceutical salesmen out of the parking lot.

OP, if you're looking for a collaborator, maybe you could give us some more details. I do technical writing myself (for pay even!) and I'd never say "yes" based on your information. I need to know what I'm writing about ahead of time, or I might find myself agreeing to write 10K words on toe-jam or something else I have no interest or experience in.
