Writer Challenge: Dixon, Muffie, Siren, Nessus et. al.

Who wants to take me on in a battle of erotica to be judged by the GB?

Why? I've got a bad case of writer's block and need competition to get me rolling again. Anybody else in the same boat?

The ground rules: In this thread, a setting and genre will be decided by thread contributors. Everything else including characters and length is up to the authors. No previously published (on Lit. or anywhere) work is to be allowed. The authors will have one week to complete and submit the assignment after all is agreed upon. In a separate thread we'll place a poll to discuss and vote on the winner.

Well, these contests and "Chain" stories have come up before, and they've always been fun to read, but it would be excrutiating for me to work on. I already have a ton of writing projects that have to meet certain criteria and have lots of parameters and deadlines attached to them, I don't want erotica to be one of them.

So SS has the setting on a college campus, with two folks working on a class project. What's the deadline and how would you like it posted?

Marxist, a few months ago, Muff and a few of us did something very similar to this over in the Authors Hangout Forum. Muff posted a pic and then the rest of us had a week to write on that pic, limitations in word length allowed us a chance to complete the assignment and not have it become onerous.

It was a *lot* of fun and some really good writing came from it - but it fell apart cuz people just don't always have the time to devote to such an endeavor.

Perhaps it'll work for you this time. I don't know. Seems like it needs some pretty good guidelines, though, to make it a going concern, some limitations on word length, definite due dates, and a pretty specific story start, something that will engage all types of writers. For instance, i don't write the same stuff that debbie writes, at all, and such a project would have to include all different styles, unless you're deliberately targeting only specific writers or those who write certain kinda of stories.

Cymbidia, thanks for the advice. I looked at what worked in the Muffin thread and what didn't. This really looks like fun. Hopefully this will work because the assignment is short and we've got a detirmined group of "board personalities" that wouldn't want to lose face.



RULES:

Who Can Participate: Anyone registered on Lit. Just announce your intention to write in THIS THREAD. Otherwise, how will we know that you're competing?

Length: No longer than 1 standard page (@600-800 words). It can be shorter. It can be a paragraph if you'd like. I just want to keep it short because I want everyone to be read equally. Anyone going way over this will be sent to live in exile with Rick and PC. On second thought, you'll just be disqualified.

What To Write About: All standard Lit. genres are open (thanks Cym.).

Setting: The only MUST, is that your story takes place on a college campus (thanks SS). Country, state, city, major, etc. are up to you and your imagination.

Deadline: Must be approved by midnight EST (5:00 GST) Sunday Jan. 27 . Seeing as how it normally takes a few days to be approved, next Thursday (Jan. 24), is probably a good time to have them submitted to Literotica by. This is a little elastic but it will be to your detriment voting and view-wise to be late.

Reward: Pride. Buckets and gobs of it. That is unless, estevie and Simply Southern have something else in mind.

You can also come back to this thread and tell us the title and give us a link to your story. That would be a HUGE help.

The poll thread will go up on the Monday following the close of the deadline.
