Wrait layke howe yew tock

I believe the idea is to approximate our accents and colloquialisms as best we can. Which would be absolutely useless to read.

... and in my case, this is pretty close to how I talk, when I get going.

Generally, add somewhat random instances of things like "yeah", "cool", "goddamn", "effin" (yes, I actually don't use the original word, but it's vaguely cleaned-up analogue), and you'll have the general idea of the way I talk.

Example:

"Yeah, this is either one of the most brilliant goddamn fluff threads I've seen all week, or it's the dumbest effin thing I've read in a month. I'm not sure yet..."

Sorry, brother, I confine it to my own species. Ewes are off the guest list.

Which makes it tough. Neanderthals are pretty scarce.

A purely subjective statement, and as such, one that cannot be empirically debated. All I'll say is, I'm of the opinion that this particular Neanderthal isn't all that hot looking in skirts - but they are fun to wear. ;)

I should have added "in my minds eye"

but I have a rather vivid imagination, and a taste for bears....

.

Gotta love fluff threads - they can be hijacked without guilt. :D

I will assume you mean "bears" in the colloquial sense of "hairy man", and simply accept the implied (and/or explicit) complement. :)

I had to clarify, since I already threw out an animal related joke, after all...

31% dixie. I'm a yankee.

Makes sense; I'm from Upstate New York, lived in Colorado, and som of my responses were all over the country, but mostly central and western Great Lakes region, which I thought was funny. Maybe my friend is right, and Syracuse is like Chicago Lite...

A man brings a clock in to a Swiss clockmaker.

The clockmaker says, "Vat seems to be ze problem vit your clock?"

The man says, "All it does it 'tick, tick, tick' all day," The man replied.

The clockmaker assured him, "Not to vorry, ve haff vays of making it tock."

61% Dixie. Just under the Mason-Dixon Line
I'm in Knasas, too, but I lived in Jawjah fer a wyal, back awayz.

I do remember drive thru liquor stores...but don't think they're even legal in Missouri or Kansas. We are a bit behind the curve in some of the cultural ways.

And, because Kansas City is on a state line, maybe our speech is affected. A combination of our confusion over what laws to break, depending on which state we're in at the moment and the di-magnetic flux that pulls us one way or the other at any given time of day. Not to mention all the bull shit talk about bi-state taxes, to help a certain Missouri county pay their bills! But, I digress...

Yeah, hijacking threads like this IS fun! :D
