I just realized I reached this ridiculous benchmark, and it boggles my mind. I haven't been at this very long -- less than three years -- and I have to wonder how it even happened.

I can clearly recall a few weeks in, when I first noticed I had some followers. Prior to writing my first couple chapters, I had never even had a Literotica account. I'd just been one of those anonymous readers who never voted or commented. As a result, I wasn't even aware you could follow authors on the site. I saw I had something like 70 followers, and wondered, "Does that really mean anything?"

I went through and found some of the more memorable stories I had enjoyed reading over the years, and added those authors to my "Favorites." When I saw how many followers they had, I snorted and felt silly. They all had 7,000 followers or more! I didn't realize that the authors I had favorited all ranked among the top 15 in the Favoritest Authors list.

In fact, I wasn't even aware of that list for the first year I was writing and submitting stories to the site. I only became aware of it when I did a Bing search for "LexxRuthless" and the first listing was the Danish version of that list. At the time, I had just snuck onto the list. Now, I am 40th on that same list. Good lord.

I mean, it's got to be a significant achievement, judging by how few authors have reached that milestone, but I have no idea how I pulled it off. It's incredibly humbling.

Yep, that's a bunch. Congrats. Don't worry about 5,000 pairs of eyes constantly looking over your shoulder, watching everything you do.

Congratulations! I'm amazed at how prolific you have been. You've only been writing since 2018 and have 63 stories published. I started a year and a half before you and am at 34. Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride. You'll keep moving up that list.

Congratulations on your benchmark. I've been at this for a year or so now and have yet to reach 100. (No Complaints) You should be proud of your achievement. Clearly, you have found the formula that works best for you. Keep up the good work 👍

So many  wow. I think if you counted all who have ever read my stories it wouldn't be that many :D

Congratulations!

Hey, well done. That’s impressive

You got me interested so I went and took a look. 4 away from 2,000. I’m on your tail. 😂

Hey, that is also quite a milestone. :)

It has definitely been a motivator; I can distinctly recall having 1500 followers and thinking, "Ugh. I don't really feel like writing tonight. But...there are at least 1500 people who will be disappointed if I don't." So I sighed, got to writing, and a few hours later I had a pretty good start on another chapter for my series.

My muse rewards persistence. Usually.

That's like having the entire population of Elmsford, NY, a suburban town in Westchester County north of the city. (Actually, you'd need eighty-five more.) It's also very close to Wildwood, NJ, and Needles, CA.

That's a really long stretch for a town of 5,000. :D

Nice one. Congratulations.

I kinda wish I could persuade myself to post in I/T and reach many more readers - my 25 stories in similar timeframe are yet to reach 50 followers - but my brain just won't.

Right behind you. Just made it to 100. Keep looking over your shoulders.

Congrats, I looked at the all time author list and you're #40, not too shabby.

Wow, cool. I only have 4829 followers -- of which 4827 are sworn police officers in Adelaide -- but I'm not worried. I'm not even in SA. They'll never find me here in room 1205 of the River's Edge Hotel, 6009/3 Hackett Dr, Crawley WA 6009, Australia.

Lexx, you've already picked up 20 more followers since you started this thread three days ago, even though you haven't published anything so far this year. Impressive. At this rate you'll be over 7000 by the end of the year. I'm about 2200 behind you but you're putting distance between us.

Ummm...I did publish The Hypnotist in January. Now, maybe I shouldn't have, but it still earned a "Hot" rating. I've got about 3 Lit pages of a sequel going. I'm calling it The Hypnotist – That Fucked-Up Sequel Someone Wanted.

There's a certain freedom in writing something with the goal of making it really messed up.

OK, I missed that. I published one in January, too. Agreed, it's liberating if you know from the get-go you're going to go off the rails.

Damn hotel quarantine ;-)

I thought there'd be too many serial killers in SA for them to worry about you, unless, oh, wow... just don't drop the soap...
