A senior citizen smacked me in the 4runner this afternoon. Hit us just behind the front wheel on the passenger side hard enough to pick us up and move us 8 feet (and the 4runner is not a light car). POS Chevy Lumina rolled the running board up under the frame, and dove under the side to lift and shove the SUV 8 feet to the left. When she came down, 4runner’s front wheel was at a 45 degree slant, not good at any time, especially not good for a 4wheel drive. Only consolation is that POS Lumina is now really ugly.

I have told the kids that when I am not safe to drive, take away the keys. I hope that I remember this when my turn comes, as it inevitably will for all of us. My dad drove until he was 87, course he had just published the second volume of his childhood memoirs, and was still swimming 2 miles a day. My mother, on the other hand decided to stop driving around 70. I hope that some of that good since rubbed off on me.

The bottom line is that thankfully no one was hurt, 4runner is wounded, and may not recover (she has given 10 years of faithful service), POS Lumina is now very ugly and hopefully dead, and maybe at least one senior now realizes that time has caught them and they can no longer safely control a vehicle.

It’s a shame 4runner had to pay, she was such a pretty red truck.

I'm glad you're alright SamSam! A good car is a terrible thing to waste, but I'm sure it died a noble death defending it's driver till the bitter end! Hope everything works out car/insurance/money wise. **smooches**

Awwwwwwww sammy, thats awful. We should have a wake. I'll bring tequila, it seems to make everyone horny. Cheap stuff okay?
