This was put to me elsewhere also.

For me, it's a hard one to reply to.

I know I have occasionally been stirred enough to waken my husband for a little nookie if I've read a reply that is particularly sexy. I say occasionally because in preferring slower paced threads, it's hard to become aroused, and maintain it for what can be a couple of weeks between posts. It allows for the quality of the post to be admired, but not put to use.
I don't get off on my own ever because of an arousing post or posts. I'm just not a big masturbation fan frankly. And it for me crosses a personal trust between my husband and I. It would just be too much of an intimacy to act on the words of another man while I was alone.

As for whether a partner gets off on something I've written, while I really don't want to know, I can only suppose it has inspired moments between the occasional partner and his companion..or him alone. My personal ''rules'' can't apply to a writing partner, but I definitely don't' want to know about it beyond him finding it a good piece of writing.

I think given what we're writing it's a bit hypocritical to say it must never happen. It is erotica after all. If it's not written to arouse, to be enjoyed, then why write it? Just don't give me a paragraph about what you did to yourself, or someone else. TMI at it's best.

Interesting question, trudee. I'm loving all of your polls and question threads btw, fun to come back to.

For me I think I would like to know that my writing inspired someone to a little self pleasure, or sent them in search of their s/o for a little relief. I wouldn't want serious details though, or pictures of the aftermath...had that happen once and it was enough.

I think knowing that my words touch someone enough to give them a physical reaction is inspiring to me. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes me want to write better.

What I'd really love to hear is that someone read something I have written to their partner and it inspired them both. That would make my day.

I would rather know that my words made them cry, and not because they were poorly written, but because it pulled real emotions out of them. :)

You just had to say "pull" didn't you? ;)

Anyway - you can be sure - you definitely do strike emotions :rose:

um... damn. this is just a bit odd. I'd never thought about whether or not my partner got of on what I wrote in story. You know, like actually thought about it.

I have been told they liked the story or a particular part but Ive never been informed of them getting off. on the flip side, Ive never informed anyone else.

I want to say I don't care, but I do and don't. I just figure, its fucking in text, when you break it down to the sex acts themselves. IF they didn't find it appealing and fulfilling in some way, they wouldn't write. If they didn't have those same reactions while writing with me then why write with me. So its just kind of a given that they get something out of it. Do I want to know that they are, indeed, getting off... Not specifically.

What she said.

Flipping the question around a bit, for me a role play story usually moves at too slow a pace for that. I do enjoy reading my partner's posts, but since I immerse myself in the role, I pay more attention to what feelings it engenders in me rather than how it may arouse me.

Now in chat sessions it's another story. Most people I've played with in chat know when it's affecting me in real life. My typing gets much worse......much, much worse. And it takes longer to reply since I'm trying to correct at least some of the typing errors. Fortunately, none of my partners have complained about that part. Maybe the knowledge that they are truly getting me aroused and (sometimes) even to the finish line helps to make up for the typos.

Do I want to know? Not really, I did not come to Lit. to know what strangers are doing in RL.

There are people here on Lit. that I am fond of now, that I like to hear from and I am concernd when they are not feeling well or happy.

But a complete stranger telling me they wanked off to my work? TMFI.

You got that friggin right. Tis a totally different beasty altogether. -weg-

What?

You can write stories in chat??

I don't understand anything you people are talking about...

I might be wet behind the ears, but I didn't come down in the last shower. You know EVERYTHING. ;)

Its like...I know all those words...but you have put them together in a syntactically...unrealized way

Now - THAT'S hot - using syntactically in a post.

*swoons*

I was actually going to check the thesaurus to see if I could think of multi-syllabic synonym for "swoons", but I thought that would be too forward.

Oh you silly fish
There's no word better than swoon
your search, I say ends

Well lookit this thread...

I'll admit to being curious, but I don't think about it like that. When I write, I'm doing it for the enjoyment of it all. I like seeing the replies and such, the comments and the flattery of course. If there is any of that anyway... Ya know, just if it does happen... I like that.

BUT

I'm not writing fappin' material. If it turns you on and you feel the need to go to work, that's awesome. If not, that's cool too.

Oh, and Vail... you're awesome for being able to work "syntactically" into a post. Seriously. I love you for that. Like, to the point of kissing you... through a hazmat suit.... between a glass wall... that was a foot thick... yeah. That's love right there.

I suppose I take the stance that I really don't think that anyone reads the things I writer other than my co-writer. If people do, then I hope they enjoy it. I guess people 'masturbating' to it falls into that category.

I don't make the assumption that they are. I simply write because I want to, and for my own enjoyment. Anything beyond what my co-writer thinks matters little.

But if someone told me? In all honesty...I'd turn into a blushing tomato and not know what to say. I'd be very flattered.

EDIT
On further thoughts, though. I would not want to know details. Just a 'Wow, that was really hot!' or 'Yeah, that one line really got be going..' would be more than enough.

If the post was really meant to be arousing, sure why not? I don't need to know but would consider it a great compliment if I was told so. Sure.

Although the best compliment I ever got from a co writer was for a non-sexual post as my chauvenist pig character talked about how hot her straight-laced professional character was to his racquetball buddy. My cowriter really enjoyed what the guys were saying about her behind her back.
