I was staying with a friend the other night in a twee English cottage. You can only get out of the bed at the end though, since the room is a funny shape.
When I had got up I went downstairs, took out my glasses and tried to read the Sunday paper. I couldn't. It was totally blurred. I squeezed up my eyes, rubbed them, banged my head on the ceiling - low ceilings - everything you normally do to get your sight back.

After some time, I noticed a lens was missing because I'd stood on them getting out of the bed. OK I'd left them on the floor, but if her house had been properly built in the first place I'd have rolled our of bed as usual.

I'm begining to pine for my hayloft. I feel a Shylock coming on. Maybe I'll call in all my pounds of flesh and have a banquet.

i would opt for the blindness so i can appreciate my other senses for 2 weeks and also fully appreciate the use of sight and encourage me to look after my eyes

and also to be able to emphatise better with blind or partially sighted friends of mine
