You're alone. You notice your friend/spouse/whatever left their phone and their texts are open. Do you read them?

I’ve had my chances and just let it be. There is no good outcome. Either it’s nothing and then I would feel foolish or it’s something and I would feel more foolish.

Yup

Yes I'd read them
Are you asking as if you suspect something is going on?

If you're in a relationship, having doubts, and asking this question, no need to wait for an answer - it's time to go.

no

well, i truly believe that a husband and wife should have no secrets and have access to one anothers phones.......

and we do at our house

but i have never picked up my wife's phone and read her texts

if i suspected something or was worried about something.....id just point blank ask her......

to me, its just like a woman's purse.....im not going in there.....for any reason....ever.....ill bring it to her......but im not rambling through it looking for anything....period

that is just how i was raised

and as far as someone else's phone? absolutely not

This.....

Sure. I do so all the time. He even asks me: can you read me that message that just came in

Nope. I've never read a partner's or child's text.
Snooping through my phone is a dumping offence.

The "couples should have no secrets" crap offends me.
1, being in a couple doesn't take away my right to have private thoughts and conversations.
2, in a conversation, it's two people. The person I'm talking to hasn't consented to him reading what was sent to me.

That was very hurtful.

Just imagine how long it will take to read all the texts I've received these past two months.

this right here is correct

this goes for emails, pms, dms, and everything else

You can always count on the GB blurters to lie and paint the best impression of themselves and then read every fricking text they get the chance to. :)
