You might try downloading zone alarm from www.zdnet.com

a freeware firewall that will make you almost completely invisible to attack.

I have DSL and I use 3 firewalls... scumbags all over the net keep trying to steal from other's harddrives.

lookit! just might be of some help!

good luck!

... Don't you love me?

It's alright HeavyStick, I just feel so.. violated.

Most of the "scumbags" are innocent users of file-sharing programs like kazaa....

But you comunicate with many computers in your net-wanders- and it is invisble to you, the casual user.

Don't load any exe files, use bitch-goddess FS programs, and minimize the use of MS products whenever possible.

Hmmm... that address is in a block that is not routable across the 'net. That means that it's someone close to you, probably on campus, or using the same ISP.

From whois.net:

OrgID: IANA

NetRange: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
CIDR: 10.0.0.0/8

NetHandle: NET-10-0-0-0-1
Parent:
NetType: IANA Special Use
NameServer: BLACKHOLE-1.IANA.ORG
NameServer: BLACKHOLE-2.IANA.ORG
Comment: This block is reserved for special purposes.
Please see RFC 1918 for additional information.

Ah, the joys of using a Mac. Nobody bothers attacking Macs. They're too inconsequential.

I can guarantee that Never is no where near me and I am getting nothing from legitimate tracing programs.

Nope, they've got a different ISP than I.

riff,
I don't have kazaa or any file sharing program. Why would they bother me?

random hits.... it happens to alot of people. the weird thing is the "special use" reservation with NO info.

Are you saying that file sharing programs routinely search all address's across the net?

I've been getting probed particularly heavy for some reason this afternoon, Zone Alarm is dinging every three or four minutes...
