I'm fascinated what sort of people are on this site and other sites like it. People who know me would be astonished that i use this site. I look at people during the day and wonder if they also use sites like this. Would people who know you well be surprised you are here? What sort of person are you? What is your job? I'm an HR manager - maybe not the sort of person you might expect to find here. Id love to know your answers to my questions

Yep. Nobody who knows me in real life would ever believe I am on this site. And they'd all have heart attacks and conniption fits if they knew the stuff I write on here! They'd be astonished that any of the content of my stories ever occurred in my mind, in the first place. Or that I then typed them up and posted them!

Being "outed" on this site is my biggest concern. And since I work for a very large, church-owned organization, I'd probably get fired. Or else I'd be lectured by Nuns for the next 20 years. All of whom are younger than me. Sorry, I find it inherently funny when anyone younger than me tries to tell me "how life _really_ is." And quite probably my husband would be let go from his place of employment when it became known. We work for the same religion-owned organization.

It's not the people we work with who give us the axe. It's HR. There's company policy, and it's treated like the 11th Commandment: thou shalt not stray from corporate policy. However, the people we work with would be so shocked, they'd probably distance themselves from us. We love them, but my literary hobby is not something they would ever understand.

So, that's why the obviously fake pen-name and AI-generated avatar pic. And the reluctance to share any personal details. It's sad, because I know I'd probably like many of the wonderful folks here. But I can't take that chance.

And anyway, anything I'd have to say is all in my stories. That's how I communicate best, if obliquely. (Hubby just read that and is laughing his ass off.)
