Hey everyone, first post here.
I recently submitted a story to literotica, my first piece of erotic writing. Honestly, I just whipped it up one restless night reminiscing about certain events in my life, and didn't put too much effort into it. I had stumbled across this site a few days earlier, and thought it would be nice to share. I've pretty much a newbie when it comes to this, as I've never written nor read erotic fiction before. But hey, there's a first time for everything, right?
So, yeah, I posted my story a week ago and it got approved yesterday apparently. I was baffled by the response I got. I had no idea so many people were reading these stories! I was expecting maybe a dozen reads, not anywhere over 1,700 views + 30 votes.
I always proofread, but I did a really shoddy job when doing it with this story. There were few grammatical errors and it didn't flow well. Most of my writing is fluid, but for me, my writing of this story seemed a bit forced. I've been on a writing dry spell, and this is the first story I've written in like two years. Imagine that, I get back into writing and enter a completely new field!
Well, enough backstory. Here's what I want:
I'd like an editor, who would help work on my flow. Someone to help me out with some of my grammar nuances, and provide any constructive feedback to make my story better. After reading my story, I feel as if I have it memorized and I'm like... reading it from memory, and not seeing my mistakes.
I'm a creative guy, and I don't like to change my story much, so I'm not really going to need story modifications (I'd love to hear comments and suggestions though, and if I like them, I'd probably use them!).
The story is about 13 pages, single spaced. It's erotic couplings, but it's definitely not one of those quickies. It's focused around love and romance (deep down, I'm a romanticist, I think). It's from a third person point of view, a male character being the central guy, involving pretty much an average session of sex. Nothing spectacular. No one is swinging from ceiling fans, having sex in 0-gravity while having unicorns watching. ... ...
Again, I'm a newbie on the sex lingo, and I made it up the best I can. Someone who's experienced and can provide me with some help on adding more variety would definitely be welcome.
Also, after reading my story and comparing it some others, it seems kinda cheesy, but I've got half a dozen e-mails telling me it was heart-felt. If you're not a fan of that holding each other while having sex, kissing, etc., you may not like this one.
Umm, I'm not sure what else to post. I'm editing it right now, making a second draft so to speak. All interested editors, I'll probably be sending you an updated copy. If you need more info, let me know and I'll be happy to send you a hundred or so pages of notes. Or not.
Thanks a bunch.
