you can rework you stories and edit them afterwards, just resubmit the revised chapter BUT make sure to add behind the title "EDIT" that way they know they have to replace the current one up on Lit. that way you will not loose your votes/comments.
you can add in the notebox the reason of edit.

As a courtesy to your would-be readers, you might want to mention that the story is mother-son incest. It may seem silly, but inc/tab readers can be picky about the family relationships they're willing to read about. Uncle-niece? Great! Father-daughter? Yuck!

I'll try to circle back to your story, but for now I can help with your easier question about resubmitting your edited Chapter 1. The guidance below is from the submission FAQ. As it notes, resubmitting does not affect your score or read-count. I've done it plenty.

I've re-edited my story and want to replace the posted version with my new edited one. How do I do this?

No problem! Simply submit the new version as you submitted the old one, only adding the word "EDITED" to the title (ex. "My Sexy Firefighter Ch. 03 - EDITED") so that we know to replace the old text with the new text. We will then replace the original text with the new text. Your story will retain its previous voting score and views.
