If there was a breakthrough in modern technology and you could live forever? Would you choose to or continue to age naturally?

I'd live forever. If I got bored I could always kill myself.

It will not be here and in this body but i plan to.

Only if I had "Highlander" to live forever with me. Otherwise definitely no.

No, I wouldn't want to live forever. I think we are here for a reason and the time is set for how long before we even get here.

well of course, Deb:D

unless there were unwanted side effects, like a decrease in normal appetites or something:p

I need more information before I could decide on that. Damn. I over anal-yze...

If I retained all my functionality, I'd definitely like to live longer. I think I'd really like the chance to learn more about the world, become a better human being, savor another fine rum wiskey or wine...

But of course. And I will. Just not in this discardable mortal body...

I want to change my answer to that one...

I thought this way too when I made the query. Based on the little info I posted? I would want to know more before I even considered it.

This world is just a step amongst the stairs.....I wish to keep moving...

I'd certainly choose to live a lot longer than we're all normally allotted. I can't possibly see and do and read and write and listen to all the things I want to in this lifetime. I can't image ever running out of things to do. But, even if it sounds harsh, Worm hit the nail right on the head when he said "I'd live forever. If I got bored I could always kill myself." Exactly. I'd like it to be my choice if and when I go, and not just fate or genetics.

Immortality is a god-like power- time is the major limiting factor for most tasks. I like to think that I might be altruistic & posess enough patience & vision to be chosen for such an opportunity and make the most of it....

On the other hand, I wouldn't entrust eternity to a procrastinator such as myself.;)

There already is a way to live forever. It's called.....

FAME!!

I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Baby, remember my name!

Baby, look at me
And tell me what you see
You ain't seen the best of me yet.
Give me time,
I'll make you forget the rest.
I got more in me,
And you can set it free
I can catch the moon in my hand
Don't you know who I am?

Remember my name. Fame!
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly--high!

I feel it comin' together
People will see me and cry. Fame!
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame. Fame!
I'm gonna live forever
Baby, remember my name
Remember, remember, remember, remember,
Remember, remember, remember, remember.

Baby, hold me tight
'Cause you can make it right.
You can shoot me straight to the top
Give me love and take all I got to give

Baby, I'll be tough
Too much is not enough, no
I can ride your heart 'till it breaks.
Ooh, I got what it takes.

Ah, but with infinite time, those self-motivated, accomplishing types would quickly grow bored... Eternity should be reserved for those procrastinators among us who really need it... :D

Tie eternal life to youth and you betcha... Every few years I could teach myself something new... maybe a doctor for a decade. Learn all the languages of the world... hell with all that time, think how much good could be accomplished... knowing you weren't limited by time.

Nope. I wouldn't like to live to see all the cruelty of this world. Even if I was out of this wheelchair, and, had a better life, I would rather die.

I plan to!!!

(Makes the Sign of the Cross)
God, by your grace and mercy, grant me the promise of your salvation : life eternal. AMEN!!
