Worse thing to do to the flag

I was driving around with a friend of mine last night and I brought up the flag burning legislation that pops up every now and again, and he mentioned the alternative above. That had me wondering, which would seem worse?

I think the worst that you could do is ignore it, at least if you are burning it you are saying, we notice you, and hate you. if you ignore it what you are saying is that it is not even worth the amount of time and energy to hate it.

It would be disrespectful, but someone putting a hot fuck at a higher priority than patriotism wouldn't be unamerican in my mind.
