i am desperately trying to find a way to work from home . i'd prefer it if i would magically get at least 200 bucks a month but i know things don't work that way. the problem is i'm 7 months pregnant and unemployed and i don't plan on working when my daughter is born, but need some sort of income. does anyone have any good advice or sources of any kind for something i can do. any advice anyone would have is greatly greatly appreciated
*crosses fingers hoping this thread doesn't get buried right away*

The work from home ads are basically a scam. My mom looked into it once and they wanted her to give them money so they could send her a book of companies that supposedly paid people to work from home.

Realistically, you're best off doing a home daycare, if you're going to be at home anyways. Good luck, I could never do it...I want to be with my kids when/if I choose to have them, but if I didn't work I know I'd go insane.

Depends on your skills. Typing term papers is a good idea if you're in a college town. Lots of small companies send typing/secretarial stuff out instead of hiring a secretary.

You could check out www.allfreelance.com also.

Always wear clean underwear, you'll just feel better.

It does depend a lot on what kinds of skills you have. If you have degrees, previous job experience, or anything like that to work with, it isn't impossible. There are quite a few jobs doing writing, editing, proofreading and stuff like that, but there are a lot of people trying to get them. Whatever you have that might set you apart from the other candidates really helps.

This is another somewhat useful site:

What are your work skills now or your hobby and craft skills????

200 a month shouldnt be to hard to come up with
How about yard work for people? Snow removal?, You could set your own hours and have hubby watch baby.

Another thing, Typing term papers for college students. Selling naughty pics of yourself. I heard of someone selling hers for 5 dollars a pic. She would pose as requested.
lol did you hear about the woman who was selling her dirty underwear on ebay and got in trouble with the law for it. hehe. i could do the term paper thingy methinks. i live in a college town. i'll have to look into it thanks ee :)

Phone sex is an option.
i have seen that, rather tempting for 10 to 14 bucks an hour. thats a possibility. although i'm not quite sure i'd be very good at it. i have a tendency to burst into giggles.

It doesn't work that way. It's sometimes harder to work from home than it is to work away from the home.

Why? Because when you're working you're working. You can't be Mommy, wife, couchpotato when you're working, you have to be an employee. Work requires concentration and that requires that you remove your homelife distractions from your work. Try doing that with a baby.

Sure, maybe you could do stuff when the kiddo is sleeping, but s/he won't always be that way. People think working at home means scheduling work during the free time that you seem to have. The flat truth is that work will always get in the way of home life and home life will always get in the way of work.

I would suggest that you look into childcare. That way you can be with your child and work at the same time. Otherwise you're going to kill yourself with stress.

Right now, though, I have a friend who works for the Miss Cleo's psychic network. He makes 9 bucks an hour reading a script from his computer to a moron on the phone. I dunno how he got the job. I'll ask next time I see him.

thank you for the link pcg. tis loading right now so i can go research it. i can type about 80 wpm but i don't have any real job experience doing it, which is what most typing/transcription employers want. so in a sense i'm fucked in that one. mayhaps there are those out there who'd just have a silly typing test and call it good. i'm going to start getting the word out that i can type ppls term papers tomorrow when i'm over at the college when i'm done modeling for an art class.

thanks for the advice,

as far as previous job skills go. i've done mostly retail and computer tech support over the phone, and some telemarketing. i've always been doing my own clerical crap but never have for anyone else. i could try the daycare angle, but i woudlnt even know where to start on that one. mayhaps just putting an ad in the paper saying i can babysit. one thing though is i thinkt hat'd be a ilttle too much for me right now, i barely have the energy to get up most days let alone watch children, once my baby girl is born i'll be sleeping with her hopefully. hmmm, tis a possibility though.
thanks so much for the advice. i was getting really frustrated yesterday researching and lookign at links and pondering what possibilities i knew about.

i was afraid of that. i hate working for otehrs but it just may be easier. the job market here is so bad, my sister who is an ideal employee as far as availability and skill and all that, was searching for a job for 6 months and finaly found a retail one . i could go back to one of my old jobs but htat kind of stress would cause a miscarriage, twas a retail manager under an evil evil evil boss. i have options, i'm just only desperate enough to search some of them right now. if push really comes to shove after my baby's born i'll get an evening job, while josh is home. i want to avoid that though, cuz all there is, is retail or food, and those hours are never set and they always expect you to be more serious than the job really deserves if you ask me.
thanks km!
