I'm sooo sick and tired of filling in application forms and writing cover letters. :(

Can't someone just give me a decent job? Please. Anyone? Preferably one that pays £15,000 per annum so I can survive in London...
:p

You can have mine...

I have no clue what that amounts to in American money, but I get paid pretty damn well.
Only trouble is you'd have to move to Texas, where it is fucking hotter than hell. Oh, that and the fact that my job will make a sane person nuts.

So, what do I get paid and the benefits only include playing on Lit? DO you have a relocation pack? I need to move from UK!

I work in the finance business. With the way the Stock Market has been recently, it has been insane...
I really like my job, but the tension and stress of the last fews weeks has been horrible. Causing me to drink too much...

Okay, okay, so I have been a heavy drinker for years, this stress is only making it worse!!

;)

LP, with your credentials you ought to be able to get an excellent job most anywhere, including London. It's the actual job search that sucks; I relate to you there.

Just hired 3 people full time kindof...
We work 9-4 with lunch.

But the jobs were in Texas.. and the previous post is right...
ITS FUCKING HOT HERE!

Not as nice sounding erotically as your other offer..
ah-- hah!

Ok, so stay away from Texas in other words. :)

Yeah, it's the job search that sucks, and the normal fact that I'm a graduate who don't have 2-5 years experience and the way the ads are written make you think you're underqualified. Grrrrr...
LOL

But fear not! I will persevere! (or however that is spellt. It's almost 7am, don't expect me to be good at spelling...)

I just want a job with weekends off like a normal person.

You and me both!

I lost my job nearly a year ago, thinking iwas oly laided off right?
By Feb. this year i was told my job was elimated and i wasnt told because "You didnt ask"!!!!!

So i no longer have unemployment, Im living off of $300 a month in Child support and whats left of my income taxes which is QUICKLY getting less and less each month!

There is no jobs hiring in my area where i dont have to drive 100 miles 1 way to work. My car is so old that if it was a human it would be drawing Social Sercurity. Seriously!

The only HOPE i have is a friend of mine has a friend of a friend that works in a local enployment office and may tell them where a some what nearby job is hiring besides WAL-MART!

If TX wasnt any HOTTER than Tennessee i would move.......... naw...... lol

I can't speak for Britain, but it's not uncommon here for companies to overstate job requirements in their want ads. "Must have 5 years experience" is not always the absolute "must" that one might think. Someone who has worked in human resources may show up to correct me, but if there's a lot of turnover in your desired field and your school has a track record for turning out high achievers, I suspect you'll be fine:)

I'm looking for someone in my office....I'd rather hire you than have to deal with the flakes I've been interviewing. "Oh I REALLY need this job...." she tells me on the phone then doesn't show up for the interview. HR is not my strong point.

The pays not great and my boss has overdosed on viagra, but you get to drive the company car (BMW X5) and you get an expense account to shmooze clients who are financially destitute and begging for your help. Every job's got it's ups and downs, I suppose.

P.S. The weather sucks here too.....triple digits in the summer and rains all winter.

well as an english once said "i am right over this 'working for a living' lark"

anyone know a job that pays about $104k p.a. and lets me sit on the beach all day?

I am sure i would be qualified for it :)

Yeah, I do think they do the same, nobody wants a job that says "Hey, wanna do the shit stuff over here? Crap pay and no prospects!"

Speaking of work, soon into the shower to go to my part-time job!
