Words we Bothered to Look up and Abuse in Casual Conversation to Impress our Friends

I think helen should be congratulated on the longest thread title I've ever seen.

Why, thank you for noticing that, Sub Joe. FYI, I was one character shy of exceeding Lit maximum. If I hadn't removed the accidental period at the end, I would have had to come up with a whole new title.

Welp, off to go look up "frowsty" now.

And I missed off your final 'e' accidentally. Not quite as embarrassing as an accidental period.

I was wondering who was going to take the bait on that one. I really should have known. :D

What is it with you and baiting? Did you have some kind of trauma with a fishing rod or something?

Panopoly.
Ok, have to do this. It's panoply. One must spell it correctly at least if making an impression is the aim ;) .

I must say the use of any of the words above would not impress me, even if spoken or written by non-friends. AH folk are another matter (ah ha ha).

Perdita

(I like the randomness of what catches my attention in lurking now. Ta.)

Not even "beyond the pale?" :(

You're wonderful P.

I thank you for the correction, my mind does tend to confuse it for 'monopoly' ever since Joe's thread a while back on the term. I vaguely recall calling dibs on the thimble.

However, I would have to disagree with you on your above stated comment. Made enough of an impression to lure you back, didn't it? ;)

Besides, the title of the thread did make mention of the term 'abuse.' ;)

Wankel rotary engine.

OK, it's a phrase. Best I could come up with in my brain damaged state.

As an avid cruciverbalist and sesquipidilian, I would have to nominate "defenestrate."

I defenestrated my obnoxious kitty last night.

And I live on the seventh floor.
