Words NOT to use for body parts

I think calling a penis a wang is a bad call.

Just seems racist.

Also, I vote that cock be banned from further use in porn writing.

Yes, I am serious. Get Grammar.

I never understood people referring to a penis as "meat"

That one always seemed odd to me, and kind of gross.

"pussy" sounds juvenile to me and turns me off unless the character is meant to be a bimbo (female) or lame brain (male).

I love the straightforward, honest sound of "cock" and use it as the standard. "Sausage" for penis doesn't work too well, I think (and I've tried).

But I wouldn't not use any term if it fit the character who was speaking.

Meat itself doesn't bother me, but 'man meat' and 'sausage' and other food terms bother me.

I don't mind cock. It's dirty and gets to the point, it's a perfect word for when I'm in a slutty mood.

Meat - now I dont think I can get aboard that and sausage, just sounds juvenile to me.

Technically "Pussy" might have outlived itself these days, unless you're referring to a Chinese hairless, but it has kinda established itself as a standard word. I've always thought "cock" sounded a bit dumb too, but that word is also fairly established.

I'm not too fond of the food-analogies in real life - they're disrespectful to the recipient - but I use them in stories if I think they fit...

For me it's the other way around.

I find myself using a lot of words that used to bother me, because my writing style has changed and I need them. Usually in conversation, though. In narrative I still stick with cock, dick, and penis, cunt, pussy and vulva.

Bramblethorne, I've never used "beef curtains" or "meaat curtains" in my writing, but recently I was with a woman who rode me cowboy style, and as she came down over my strap on I saw exactly where the phrase came from. :catroar:

I don't mind pussy, cock, etc.

I don't like slang words that also have derogatory connotations usually to women.

Well at least you added "to me" and didn't say "most publishers only accept, like you usually try. Maybe you're learning.

Pussy seems widely accepted and what many women themselves use, because for a lot of them "cunt" is more of a crude insult than something sexy. Slit, snatch, twat, etc is no better.

And it has nothing to do with maturity. "Pussy" is also kind of a playful term that some fun can be had with. "Want to make my pussy, purr, Baby? want to pet my pussy?"

That is simply your opinion and seeing the majority of your work doesn't involve women at all Its not one I would put stock in.

Referring to a cock or pussy as his/her "sex" I see that mostly used with women but once in awhile with a guy and never liked it.

Tool, schlong and the worst for me? Member. My cock does not belong to any club or have any affiliations with any group.

Over the top things like her hot quivering love tunnel get to me as well.

But again another thread that for the most part is opinion. Although I bet on some stories ratings might tell the tale if there was a way to figure that out.

I had forgotten about those, but I agree - they're not really names but rather insults. I wouldn't use them unless I was writing a story with a character that is supposed to be rude and disrespectful to a woman.

That's when I've used them.

Also any male character that uses those I always have use the oh, so endearing term "broad"

These characters usually meet ugly endings in my stories.:D

I've seen "sex" used in a lot of Victorian era erotica. I think it's an older kind of style, that doesn't read well now. My opinion.

So your cocks not caught up on it's Union dues? You're going to get into a lot of trouble.:D

These are a mood killer in the story to me. I end up laughing when I see them. It's like when my wife refers to a tampon as a 'Vampire tea bag'

I've seen 'cunny' used a few times in stories. It reads okay just sounds a bit old fashion.

I don't like the the ones that are like 'cum bucket', 'baby maker','yogurt slinger' or the sillier ones that sound like some thing Robin Williams would come up with.

"Cunny" for some reason makes me think underage.

One eyed trouser snake is another no go. Unless of course the entire story is a tongue and cheek satire then it is pretty funny.

The wife uses a "pussy variation" and calls it her kitty which I've used a couple of times in a story and haven't heard anything on it one way or another.

It has however changed the way I see anything that has the "Hello Kitty" logo on it:D

Bad endings for rude people. I wish the real world was constructed that way :D

In my mind "broad", "dame" and "skirt" are totally fifties. I would probably use those in a Mike Hammer style scenario.

Dame and skirt I don;t think I have ever heard outside of the types of books you mentioned.

But at the bars where I play darts I still here broad tossed around.

'I also here the term "bitch" all the time.

"That bitch over there, that stuck up bitch, that bitch would be hot if..."

Amazing most of them are still single:rolleyes:

as for rude endings for rude people? man, if only. Think about how great the job market would be when two thirds of the population suddenly ceased to exist!

This is a very interesting question and discussion.

Thanks Strawberry for posting!

Are there any words that really turn you off and should never be used again?

Since the original question is (intentionally?) vague, I'm going to look at it from two directions:

1. My personal / sex life.

2. My writing

In sex, if my partner is equally willing and into it, I absolutely love to use language as a 'sex toy'. Not necessarily just 'talking dirty', but that too, for sure. But experimenting with words during sex. Under the right conditions, I've had lovers who LOVE to hear their pussy referred to in very crude terms that under other circumstances would be offensive. Cunt comes to mind. Sex is an immediate act though. You're in the moment with no opportunity to edit and then reedit, and then re-reedit. Once you say it, it's out there. It either enhances the moment or totally ruins it.

In writing though, it has to fit the scene. Like others have mentioned, I tend to use cock and pussy as a standard. When I'm drafting a story, it's all cock and pussy all the time. Then, I go back through the story and make modifications where appropriate so the term fits the passage (love tunnel?).

For narrative and most dialog, I use "dick" and "pussy". Sometimes, for vulgar conversation, I will use "cock" and "cunt", because I find them a bit vulgar, but acceptable.

I don't mind penis or vagina, but to me they seem too technical for an erotic story. Referring to a person's genitalia as their sex, seems wrong. To me, "sex" is either a synonym for gender or a act.

Just my two cents,
Jenny
