I spoke to my father today. And for those who don't know this, my father is locked up. He told me that he should be home by the end of February or early March. I been telling him about how I wanted to change, live a better live and become a different person. And this is what he told me. " Change is impossible, you are not money you are a person. Change?you are not a dollar you just can't wake up one day and become four quarters. You cannot stop being who you are because you don't want to be him no more. People who seek change is the one's that will go out their way to live a lie. Those are the people that is unhappy. Look at the people that get plastic surgery, they spend thousands of dollars just to change. But in reality they still are the same person. Change will bring you more harm than good. You wanna live a fuckin lie? Ite then stop saying that you want to change. It's impossible. You don't need no fuckin change. What you need is growth. I'm here trying to grow into a better person daily, but I'm not changing shit. And you are not changing either. Us trying to change won't ease our minds of the person we once were. It's not going to stop the fact that we are criminals and ex cons. We can't change the truth but we can learn and grow from it. There isn't a such thing as a bad seed, it just wasn't cared for and looked after. Be that rose that grew from concrete. All you need is growth".

Where was this at years ago???? But in a way I can't wait until he comes home.

Growth isn't necessarily good. A cancer can grow, for example. Sometimes real change is needed. Not just growth.

There's no way you can change yourself 100%, even if you try. But you can change the things you know are wrong, possibly even eliminating some of them altogether. That alone is worth doing, in my opinion.
