Quick question. If using a line spacing of 1 1/2 and an average sized font (Times New Roman 14) what can be expected for the number of pages in Word to the pages in the final posting?

It's about 3500 words per Lit page. You can get the word count in Word by going to the Tools menu and selecting Word Count. Seems to be maybe 9/10 pages a 1 1/2 line spacing.

It depends also on your page size in Word!

Word count is the most reliable method, but estimates per Lit page vary from author to author. Weird Harold says 3850, if my memory serves mecorrectly, but this too will vary somewhat according to how many long words you use. (Eg if you use "currentlywise" instead of "now".) The word count will also go down if you adopt the modern habit of starting a new paragraph for every sentence.

In an extremely unscientific trial the first page of the first story in "New Stories" to have more than one Lit page (at this moment) is exactly 3655 words.

Many moons ago, when I sampled 100 Lit pages, I came up with an average of 3767 words per page, with some as high as 4500 words and some as low as 3200 words.

Lit actually breaks pages based on the parapgraph break closest to a character count somewhere in the vicinity of 14,000 characters.

I recommend using MS Word's Word Count function and dividing by 3,500 to get an approximation of how many pages Lit will break your story into. It's only rough approximation, but it errs on the high side; Lit will very seldom break the story into more pages than "word count/3500" predicts.

Sorry for misquoting you. I have made a note of the "correct" answer.
