We just say hi.

It's interesting to see what race and body type we assign to those we converse with but never see. Do we think of everyone as belonging to our own race until they assign a race to themselves? Do you look at the av and think that's the person you're talking to? Do you predispose based on whether or not you like the person?

I've thought about this before too, Muffy. For me, I never really think to question ethnicity. Maybe I do assume everyone is just like me.?. It doesn't suprise me much, on this board, to learn someone is native american, hispanic, asian, "white", "black", etc

But, for some reason, it strikes me a different way on the poetry/ story feedback board. Maybe its because some of the members there make it a point to be known that they are african american (gawd it's hard to be politically correct haha) on quite a regular basis. So you can't really over look it or forget it. I think knowing their heritage helps me to read and understand the things they write better, or differently.

arggg I'm really finding it difficult to make my point here. I hope no one misreads what I am trying to say. I guess.. I'm just saying that it is not an issue to me... They color of a persons skin, or eyes, doesn't sway my opinion of them. I really don't think about it until it is brought to my attention.

A better question might be "what flavor you are". Does color really matter? I happen to have red hair and i once met this guy that was color blind. I think he was the only person I have ever met that looked at me for me first, not the "red hair" thing. It made me feel good. But if I could choose a color I'd want it to be green. Your stories make me think red or maybe purple lol, but never the two colors together lol.
