I've had many public comments on my stories and one poem, and have very gratefully received every one of them, but I have just had one, on my poem, which blew me away. It was so imaginative, as well as portraying to me how much my poem also touched them. I have a very warm glow now.

OK, seriously, now. I have received several incredibly touching comments, but most of them in private feedback or PMs - which I save religiously. My work just doesn't seem to elicit that many comments, for some reason.

That's just SO beautiful. That person who commented, what was his name again? Oh, yes, of course, Anonymous... he must have slaved over that wonderful responce for hours. But of course all of his comments are so well thought out and touching. I hope to meet Anonomous some day so I can thank him properly for all his kind words.

I haven't had a whole lot of comments yet, but my latest story got several that I found really interesting 'cause they commented on how the story had made them feel as opposed to being critique-oriented. And I even got one in email, which I am going to print and stick in the file with my writing once we get the printer fixed or replaced.

I love geting comments and feedback, but the only things that really stand out were a pm I got from a very sexy lady that started "HOLY F'N SHit" and really made my day and the reaction I got from Sheath when she literally pushed HerSixStrings away from the computer to reply to me one day.

I have received such wonderful reaction from so many of you. Youu have reawakened a part of me I thought had withered so long ago. I am such a feedback slut!!!

I have had some great ones. The one that stands out though was this total wacko who said he is gonna to all this stuff to me and is searching for me. Almost made me quit the site in disgust. Then I thought of all the nice people and good comments and I'm o.k.

Apart from my recent contest entries, I don't seem to get all that much in public comments, but truly the nicest PC was on my 'Prom' story. It remains the only PC on that story, despite it being my most-voted-on story (1022 and counting. . .)

So far as feedback direct to me is concerned, I still treasure this -

jesus christ! this is the most convuluted (sic) piece of dog shit i've ever tried to wade through. mickey spillane you ain't. come to think of it a couple of monkeys and a typewriter and we'd have something better than this. what a total and complete waste of time.

Anonymous of course. I keep it taped up beside my PC - it stops me getting swollen-headed from the nice feedback!

I know what you mean, Perdita and completely echo what you said. I have a fair few from complete strangers and they always make me feel wonderful about my writing. Like you, I really appreciate those from friends and I know they wouldn't make things up, but there is always a certain amount of bias there, no matter how hard we try to quell it, or even deny it.

I have a great admiration for Alex's writing, it's the main reason why he's a guest author on my site.

I don't get many comments on my stories, did in the beginning, for my first 2 or 3, then they tailed off. I appreciate the ones I do get.

I only had one offensive one, for my story 'Sweet Exploration', I was told - anonymously of course - that I was a 'dumb, stupid cunt, who had no idea what erotica meant'. *shrug*.

But then, it was counteracted beautifully, by this comment on 'Wedding Night'.

This is extraordinarily beautiful: one of the best depictions of a
combination of love and desire. Usually, being jaded, I glance over stories for their literary qualities, and it's seldom that one can get me quite so, ah, hooked.

The first few paragraphs are elegant and decorous, as they're in
public: the words 'drooling' and 'ass' don't quite work there. But once she's quoted the words 'as horny as a cat in heat', that personalizes it and it's fine to indicate their growing lust by 'bum' and 'fuck'. But before that point I think it's a dip in tone.

Congratulations on a superb piece.

I'm glad you feel the same, Loulou. I have a special author friend who could not take my compliments too seriously accusing me of bias. I showed a piece of his work to three English profs (one a published poet), who all agreed enthusiastically to the literary merit of his writing, then forwarded the comments to him. Made him feel pretty good.
