Women to stop having sex with their BF's and husbands? Can that be???

Well, human shields failed, and lots of women taking their clothes off and posing in formation failed, so the new anti-war plan is taken from the classic play, Lysistra. The women of the world will all refuse to have sex with any man until men forswear war.

It's the latest brainstorm from the literary left.

In Denmark several of the country's leading actresses are at the forefront of the protest.

Actress Anne-Marie Helger told BBC News Online: "Mrs Blair, Mrs Bush and (the wife of the Danish PM) Mrs Rasmussen should stay out of their husbands' beds until they call their dogs off."

Missing from this is any explanation of why those three women would want to do any such thing. What if they actually support this war?

Apparently that's logically impossible. Since they're women, it's obvious they must oppose war, and therefore might be sympathetic to this advice. Clearly there's no such thing as a woman who supports this war.

not that it would have made THAT great an effect - it was quite common then to shag boys and animals, and prossies

if you'd read the play you would know that the women were quite interested in sex, but they were willing to make the necesary sacrifice to stop the war. it's not sexist so much as heterosexist.


busybody: i think you're unclear on the message. the women of greece took action, sacificed their own comfort and pleasure, and did what they had to do to get their voices heard. the organizers of this program aren't suggesting that all the women of america give up sex (thought wouldn't it be funny if the first lady...). they want people to take action, make sacrifices, do what needs to be done in order to stop the war.


on monday i went to a performance. it was hilarious.
