Women: are you aroused by other women moaning?

I've been reading up on why women are usually more vocal during sex. There's a lot of conjecture in the science, but it got me wondering about a couple of things.

It seems logical that lesbians or bisexual women would be aroused by other women moaning, but is that true?

What about straight women? Bi-curious? Heteroflexible?

If you're female, are you aroused by other women moaning? Do you have any thoughts on the matter?

You know...for science. :D

I know hearing other people's pleasure turns me on. If I'm playing while watching a porn, and I hear the girl orgasm, it usually leads to my own also.

For me, sex sounds are always arousing. The fact that the sounds are usually those of a woman matters less than the fact that the sounds are sexual.

I'd say I'm bi-curious (never acted on it) and I've always been aroused by other women moaning. When I was living with my parents and I couldn't watch porn whenever I wanted, I used to record just the voices on my phone and then later listen to them while masturbating (it's usually just women's moans that are heard).
I also really don't mind when I hear the neighbours having sex.

I know the moaning and calling on God for several minutes directly lead to me getting some fine nineteen year pussy several years ago.

She asked me what the hell did I do to that woman, I smiled and replied that I haven't even fucked her...yet.:D

Curiosity has made more than one pair of panties come off.

I'd be interested to know what you've been reading - the little I've seen on the subject is that a lot of the noises are learned, not innate/uncontrollable - and are an attempt to communicate with and encourage one's partner. :) That said, the hypothetical female listener's opinion of whether a moan is genuine or faked might impinge on their enjoyment of it...

I'm aroused by other women moaning. When I watch porn I tend to get off on lesbian porn (or just focus on the women in hetero stuff).

No, I am not unless I am part of it.

GFriday-I have to consciously not make noise, I knew I made some noise since I was first sexual but not how much noise until fairly recently. I don't watch porn or anything so for except a few experiences with noiseless couples I have pretty much been in a vacuum.

Vacuum cleaners do make some noise

Thank you, Noor! :) I guess it could also be determined by one's environment as well - if one shares close quarters growing up, one is far more likely to self-stifle any noises. I'm a little sad that the advent of the headphones has made the idea of 'putting some music on to cover noises' obsolete.

I imagine there is a difference between moaning in porn (which can be construed as fake) and moaning coming from the next room over (which might be construed as genuine). Is that a factor?

Well, the reading were several theories about why women are more vocal sexually than men. One of the proposed theories is that it was a way for women to announce that they were sexually active and attract other males. Since that explains why men like vocal women, apparently. But I don't really agree with that for several reasons, and I figured asking the question from the other side of the sexual divide might give some insight...

Hmmm, it sounds like you really need to act on your curiosity...

No. It's fucking obnoxious, to be quite honest.
Thanks for the opinion.

Thanks, Braschi!

Another factor might be the age or experience of the female listener in question - whether she might (mis?)interpret the moans as being out of pain rather than pleasure? Her feelings about being an audio-voyeur (not sure about the word...) might also come into play.

I can recall a story I read where a young woman had overheard a noisy fuck while staying in a hotel, and ever after would encourage her lovers to make some noise when they fucked her, by being vocal herself ('until he gets the picture - then we're away!') as I seem to recall she put it. :)

I have really never been exposed to hearing other women moaning during sex other than watching a porn movie, and then I never really thought about what was turning me on, only that I was turned on. I remember a long time ago hearing a girl in the bathroom stall next to me and I assume she was masturbating by the noises she was making and that did turn me on, but I didn't know if it was my imagination picturing what she was doing to herself or the sound of her doing it.
The older I get the more adventurous I am getting sexually and I have had thoughts about what it would be like to be with another woman. I have read some of the lesbian stories on here and I have also watched some lesbian porn from time to time while masturbating and their moans have definitely turned me on.

Those are important factors; and for the purpose of my question, I guess, need to be controlled for. The standard is that women are more vocal about their pleasure during sex, so that's the important question. Is it a voyeuristic interest that makes moaning appealing to people? I don't think that would explain why most men are turned on by women moaning, and why women do it more than men.

I have an experience in line with that story. I was staying in a hotel with my then gf, and there was a couple in another room who were very enthusiastic about having sex. My partner was actually more interested in it than I was -at first she was a bit incredulous about the girl enjoying it so much- and then became quite enthusiastic about us having sex.

And because I'm more scientific than romantic, I've always been curious about poking into the explanation.

Fascinating. I've always had a theory that sexual attraction among women is higher than society pretends it is. But would you say you are turned on by the moaning, or is it the idea that the girls are having fun?

I think that it is both. The moaning sound of pleasure I can relate to very easily so I know what she is most likely feeling when she makes that sound, but lately I have noticed how some girls appear sexy to me and it makes me think "what if".

intresting thread

i am not able to tell more clearly but i remembered that why ...?
many times , during the watching of some porn videos and the porn actress moaning on getting hard pounding in high decibels , my wife just got excited and moaned uncontrollably and even started to suck my cock and we just did a fantastic intercourse during these nights.

my wife likes it but cant say about others

That's a bit what I find curious; why would someone else's pleasure (aside from your partner) be a turn-on...

Hehe, well, there's nothing wrong with exploring. I found that there were a lot of things I felt initially there was no way I'd like, but then after thinking about it for a while, I came to realize they were quite fun.
